So, the photo is to show that the sole is peeling off the shoes. I bought them in April, so they're only 4 months old. BUT, every pair of Sketchers like this are comfortable right out of the box-- no need to "break them in" and no blisters. I'm a mailman so these shoes have walked about 400 miles in 4 months before they began breaking down. So I think they're a great shoe for people who's job requires a black shoes with a leather upper. I PREFER the other GoWalk that have the soft upper but we aren't allowed to wear those for work. ... show more
