  • 2023 UPDATE - DANG THEY ENDURED A LOT (A FRESH 2020 REVIEW!!! - Yeah, they're pretty good.)
Size: 13 X-Wide Color: Black
I wanted to leave a review for these shoes specifically because Amazon has a habit of throwing old reviews at the buyer rather than more recent ones. There aren't many with a fair critique, or they resort to "omg it sucks/rocks". So, here we go. After years of using TredSafe shoes due to just not having the money to afford fancy-shmancy, I bit the bullet on these shoes figuring I could at least default to other shoes if they didn't work out. Also, a lot of reviews complained on durability and such, but they were recommended, so I went for it. Durability: Uhhhh, folks must have run over their pairs with a lawn mower to get them wrecked like they were, because wow have mine been accidentally kicked into and scraped by a LOT of old metal equipment and hardware with basically no damage. Really, the only damage was a screw I somehow stepped on, drilling a hole into the bottom. I mean, it didn't poke my foot, so no harm done. Comfort: Okay, so memory foam is a big "your mileage may vary" situation, but generally the foam is pretty okay in these shoes. Seeing as I run around a lot more at my new job than I did my old one, these do pretty good at cushioning my 13W feet. Then again, I am also a tall dude, so the memory foam cushioning may not be as effective for me. It hasn't been long enough to really wear it out either, but again, your mileage may vary. Also depends on whether you really understand memory foam, which I kind of don't. I might be totally off-base. But anyways. Even without that, the general feel and support of the shoe is good. The fact that my heels basically never hurt after eight-hour shifts when they would tend to hurt in the old, cheap TredSafe shoes is a pretty good testament to that fact. The fit: It fits...? I mean, 13W feet, I bought 13W. It fit pretty much as expected. The only minor complaint I can make is more a special case: there isn't a lot of room for inserts. See, I'm weird and have a tendency to put more pressure on the front of my feet than the heel, and not a shoe can be found at reasonable price for someone weird like me. I'd like to be able to fit some front support into the shoes to counter that, but there's just not enough room. Maybe once I wear out the memory foam, but otherwise... Well, that's a "me" thing. If you walk like a normal person rather than like I did as a kid to catch late-night TV without being caught, then you should be okay. Other stuff: One other minor complaint is just a typical sneaker issue but a bit worse. When the bottoms of the shoes get wet, walking on any kind of hard floor gives off an obnoxious squeaking sound. I don't mean like "basketball court" squeaking. I mean like "twisting leather" squeaking. To be fair... They're sneakers. They'll make noise like that, but it's usually not that annoying. They do dry out pretty quick so long as you don't keep getting them wet, so it doesn't last particularly long. So... Four stars? Yeah. They're pretty good overall, and they sure do take a beating. I keep expecting something I do to rip it open, but there isn't a single tear or crack anywhere (besides the hole from the screw). Main problem is just memory foam getting in the way of using inserts, lack of front foot support for those like yours truly, and the obnoxious wet squeak. Still a solid shoe, though. Worth the money. Update: 07/22/2023 Just bought a second pair because the pair I use finally showed signs of serious wear, which is pretty impressive since I've used these shoes for almost everything from job work to yard work. They have had their soles handed to them regularly and only just now started actually falling apart in any measure. They aren't dead just yet, but the shoes were on a good sale so I bought pair two ahead of time. I did end up wearing out the memory foam rather quick (but I also walk weird, so once again your mileage may vary) but pulling them out to replace with new inserts was really easy, so it was a simple swap-out. I will say it's best to just swap for more memory foam since other "support" inserts didn't help just because of the shoe's own support. So yeah, running back in to say you REALLY have to try to destroy these shoes to make them fall apart: for having lasted 3 years of me, they've done a very good job staying together. They're still comfortable, pretty good support, and make the annoying leather-twisting noise when wet, but I definitely think they're worth the price, sale or not. ... show more

  • New to Sketchers
I've been buying my shoes at Walmart for the past 20 years. Usually a pair of shoes lasts me 3 years around the house or when I'm out and about. 2 years ago my 2 year old pair of Walmart kickers bit the dust so I thought I'd give them another try. Here it is 2 years later in 2023 spring and the soles are coming apart. They surly will continue on as "yard work sneakers". But I wanted something different so I gave these a try. I really like the trail style tennis shoe. This look was different than I had for the past 5 or more years. What I most like about them so far is that the inner footpads are contoured to fit my foot. Very nice feeling. So far they are quite comfy and I didn't' have to spend weeks breaking them in. They just feel good! Hoping to get 3 + years out of them. ... show more

  • My husband's favorite sneaker!
Size: 10.5 X-Wide Color: Black
My husband is very tough on his shoes, they never seem to last more than a few months. He picked up a pair of these Skechers sneakers while visiting family and he fell in love with them. They are extra wide which is great for his feet, and he loves the cushioning inside as well as the amount of support the sneaker provides. He wears them to work daily. He just bought a new pair, and his old pair are now his weekend work around the house shoes. He highly recommends them and will purchase these whenever he needs a new pair of sneakers. ... show more

  • Good shoe but
Good shoe but the memory foam is to thick making me as if I where wearing a little like high heels and the bottom rubber is more like a mix of rubber and plastic. Not as grippy as pure rubber. Would I buy again? Probably.

  • Great for plantar fascitis!
One of the few shows I can wear comfortably and walk. I have flat feet and plantar fascitis but these shoes have built in arch support. I order them in extra wide because so many shows crimp the toes, which makes both conditions far worse. I have plenty of room and my feet are happy again 💞♥️💃💃💃💃

  • Only Shoes that fit my feet .
The older I get the wider my feet are getting. Skechers are the only shoes that offer a wide enough model that will fit my feet. I have tried many other brands and 90% of them I cannot even fit on my feet. If they do fit on one step and I take them right off. I've been buying the same model Sketcher for the past 7 years and I can put them on brand new and wear them for 8 hours straight without having to break them in. But if I only had one complaint it would be the memory foam inside on the insole breaks down rather quickly it flattens out and then starts to deteriorate where your toes and heels are and leave little divots. Making the shoes uncomfortable. I wish they would offer a normal insole instead of the memory foam. Don't get me wrong I will buy another pair in a heartbeat. I just wish they would offer options of the same sneaker without memory foam. But I also got to say I'm a heavier guy and maybe this memory foam isn't made for heavy guys like me. So it's not their fault but I just wish they would give options and they still get five stars with me ... show more

Most comfortable and durable sneakers I have ever owned. Ocean accidentally claimed last pair after 2 years of regular wear. Actually bought 2 pair this time of differing colors.

  • SKETCHERS FOR THE WIN !!
Size: 13 Color: Taupe/Black
I discovered Sketchers brand shoes several year ago, being in my 60's, I thought they were for the youngsters among us, I had been wearing New Balance shoes before that. But my wife bought me a pair of gell filled sketchers when I had a case of plantar fachisitis, (spelling error), and I loved them. Later I tried andother pair of athletic style sketchers, and loved them too. I'm now buying ONLY sketcher shoes, I've got a pair of leather walking shoes, Athlitic shoes, slip ones, I'm hooked!! The fit is good, just order your regular size, they seem to last quite a while. Quality is good as well. I've never had a tear in material, or a loose sticth, or broken lace. ... show more
