I received this SITKA Radiant Sun Hoodie in Medium, Saltwater Blue Camo through Amazon Vine and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces for outdoor activities. At 5’10” and 160 lbs, the Medium fits me perfectly with a modern athletic cut that offers good mobility without feeling restrictive. The camouflage pattern has a nice blue tone that looks sharp while providing practical concealment for fishing, hiking, or casual days on the water. The fabric is lightweight and incredibly soft against the skin. It has excellent stretch that moves with me during any activity. What stands out most is the sun protection built into the material. It feels breathable yet effectively blocks harmful UV rays, which is essential during long days outside. The hoodie design with a generous hood provides extra coverage for my neck and head when needed, and the thumbhole cuffs are a thoughtful touch that keeps sleeves in place and adds hand coverage. I’ve worn this hoodie on several fishing trips and warm evenings, and it performs beautifully. It wicks moisture away efficiently so I stay comfortable even when active or humid. The quick-drying properties mean it doesn’t stay damp after a splash or light rain. Despite being lightweight, it offers just enough warmth for early mornings or breezy conditions without overheating in the afternoon sun. The construction quality is excellent, as I’ve come to expect from this brand. Seams are flat and durable, the zipper glides smoothly, and the drawcord hood adjusts easily. After multiple washes, the color and shape hold up well with no pilling or fading. The Saltwater Blue Camo pattern adds style while remaining functional, making it versatile enough to wear around town or on the trail. At this price point, the combination of performance features, comfort, and quality makes it outstanding value. Many sun protection hoodies feel stiff or heavy, but this one strikes the perfect balance of protection and wearability. I ordered this SITKA Radian Sun Hoodie for my spouse who enjoys outdoor activities. We're both very impressed with its quality, comfort, fit, and pretty much everything about it. The Gravel Blue color is an attractive, earthy tone. The stitching is excellent. It can be machine washed but must be on the delicate setting. We prefer to hang it to dry, though it can be tumble dried on low. The fit seemed accurate for size Small. The material has a little bit of give and can stretch a little bit. But the big question is whether it's worth its premium price tag? The answer: I think so based on how different it is from the more generic sun shirts I'm familiar with. Pros: - The material is its biggest sell point. It's ultra-light performance polyester that wicks sweat and dries quickly. It offers UPF 50+ UV protection, and it uses "Polygiene Odor Control Technology" that keeps it from getting as smelly as other sun shirts. - The fabric is neither scratchy or too shiny/satiny. It's very soft, breathable, and cooling directly against skin. It's not sheer or too see-through even though the material is very thin and lightweight. - Special features include a hidden thumb loop instead of the typical hole in the fabric. - Its 3-panel hood is perfect for fitting over a cap. - The overall look of the shirt is very clean with stylish lines. There's even a slight "drop hem" in the back for additional coverage that looks very nice and natural. - Even though the hoodie isn't advertised as unisex, I think the cut/fit is flattering for women as well as men. Con: - If I had to nitpick and find a flaw, I'd say that the neck hole seems a bit tighter than other pullovers. But maybe that's an issue only for size Small that I ordered. This is still a nearly perfect sun hoodie that is well worth its cost. As shown in my photos, the hoodie is very well-stitched. With proper care it should last at least a few years. So even though it's expensive, it still provides a good value.

Perfect for summer weather during hiking trips or light breeze weather. Around 70-80 degrees, this is where this hoodie shines. It does a great job of being a 'sun screen' for your body and at the same time, being a breathable lightweight material that isn't heavy to bring with you. You can easily fold this and package it with you in a bag, backpack, or even purse. The hoodie is very lightweight. Weighs infinitely less than a regular cotton hoodie so because of it being lightweight, if you are hiking and bring nothing with you, you can just tie this around your waist without it being a hassle or nuisance. The material is 100% polyester which is plastic. I have no issues with it being plastic despite critics who are claiming it is bad and not natural for your body. It works great and prevents excessive sweating and provides 50SPF protection for my body. Cotton will not be able to do that and does the exact opposite. It feels very comfortable around your skin. You can either wear this without a t-shirt or tank top or over it and it'll feel great on your skin. Polyester is soft and breathable so on hot days, you will definitely feel breeze refreshing your body. I got the saltwater blue camo and the color is as described. Looks exactly like the photos. Super easy to wash and dry. Within a few hours on a sunny day, this thing is dried up already and good to go. I would not machine dry this on high heat. the material will likely shrink over time through multiple uses of machine-drying. Air dry is significantly better long-term to keep this material working as intended and not damage it.

The SITKA Radiant Sun Hoodie is a very high quality, well built rash guard that immediately feels a cut above the usual sun shirts. I’ve been using it for backpacking, hiking, and just everyday wear when I want to avoid the sun, and it’s been fantastic for all of those uses. The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and feels genuinely premium for a sun hoodie, with UPF 50+ protection and a soft, comfortable hand strap / thumb hole that works great in hotter weather. What really sets it apart are the thoughtful extra features. The integrated hood gives excellent coverage when the sun is blazing, and the thumb holes at the end of the sleeves let you extend protection over the backs of your hands, which is a detail I really appreciate as someone who burns easily. The fit is comfortable without being baggy, and it moves well when you’re on the trail or wearing a pack. These are designed with hunters in mind, and while I’m not a hunter, I can see how someone who is would get even more value out of the design and materials. That said, it is undeniably pricey for a rash guard. There are much cheaper options out there if you just want basic coverage. But if you’re looking at this as technical gear and are willing to pay for quality construction, thoughtful design, and long-term durability, I think it can still represent good value. Overall, I really like this hoodie and reach for it often, even if my wallet doesn’t totally agree. For anyone who spends a lot of time outside, especially if you’re as pale as I am and serious about sun protection, this feels like a premium, reliable layer that’s easy to justify once you’ve worn it a few times.

This SITKA sun hoodie looks good and feels very lightweight, which makes it easy to wear on hot sunny days. The fabric is breathable and comfortable, and I like that it gives full arm and hood coverage without feeling heavy or bulky. The Herb Green color has a clean outdoor look that works well for hiking, fishing, yard work, or just being outside. The fit is comfortable and easy to move in, and the UPF 50 protection is a big plus for long days in the sun. It also dries quickly and does not feel sticky after sweating, which makes it more useful than a regular hoodie in warm weather. Overall, this is a high quality sun hoodie with a nice balance of comfort, protection, and everyday versitility. I like that im able to use it in a variety of different outfits, and it's actually really good to use as sun protection and then just store it in a pocket when indoors

My Sitka sun hoodie arrived in a sealed baggie. Looking the hoodie over, it appeared to be well made and the stitching was quality work. There were no loose threads. The fabric seemed to be the typical lightweight SPF stuff you find with more outdoor summer clothing. Laundry care instructions were easy. I was not 100% sure about the color, but I like the look of the blue digital camo in person. Trying the hoodie on, it fit. I wear a 2X and this hoodie fit but was maybe a little small than my other clothing. The fabric felt fine on my skin. This also is the fabric that dries pretty quick if it gets wet from water or sweat. The hood part of the hoodie comes drawn in, as there are no strings. This is good for too much sun or wind and if you have some rain. I actually like the ends of the sleeves. They have loops that you can put your hands through that keeps the sleeves low. Additionally the ends of the sleeves are lopsided intentionally to cover the backs of your hands. Hey, i've been out on a long day at the beach and when you're cooked, you need as much skin covered as possible. Finally, let's address the elephant in the room. At the time of writing this review, this hoodie is marketed for $85. I have some Guy Harvey hoodies that are for the exact same purpose, from Walmart, that were less than $20. This Sitka hoodie is perhaps a little better made, but its not 4 times better. No, I haven’t reeled in 4 times as many fish wearing this hoodie.
