SO much better than the mesh strainers! At first I was skeptical about whether or not these would 1) pick up as much food with the larger holes and 2) be as easy to pick up and dump. After using them for about a month or so, I can say this is the best design! If (big IF) they do let a few of the smaller particles through the slightly bigger holes, it only improves the sinks ability to drain and reduces buildup that you have to scrub down the drain anyway. Once you get used to picking the strainer up, it’s just as easy to dump and clean - easier in fact because you don’t have to take a scrub brush to it. Dough is a little harder to get off, but easier to get off this one than the mesh strainers - dump over trash, turn upside down and clean with water to remove any leftover bits. The biggest PRO is that these links are literally attached to the metal, so there will be NO ripping of mesh at the seams that pokes or scratches you every time you wash things down. Absolutely worth switching and will not go back as long as the producers keep up the high quality!
