For reference, I carry all my weight in my midsection so it's very difficult to find jeans that fit comfortably and don't show my apron belly. I typically wear a size 12 or 14 and am 5'1" tall, so length is also always an issue. I first ordered the $98 Free People barrel jeans in all the colors, hoping they would look cute. I tried one on and didn't even bother trying on the rest, I immediately returned them. Unless you're a size 2, the FP jeans were clownishly huge in the legs, but the denim was buttery soft. I am not typically satisfied with the quality of clothing on Amazon, but decided to try several barrel jeans because I wasn't having any luck from name brands. To my surprise, these fit GREAT! The fabric is a denim blend so not the same quality of designer fabric, but they are beyond flattering - comfortable stretch in the waist, slim through the hips, then a reasonable barrel flare with a tapered bottom. They skim the tops of my shoes so I have to cuff them up a little and they're perfect. Might hem them, but I hate losing the original stitching. I ordered 3 colors and love all of them. The Black is perfectly faded, the Deep Blue is a really nice medium blue, and I'm so happy they make the Retro Blue, which is just like the FP jeans with the slightest green tinge. I initially ordered a pair of barrel jeans from another seller, Grapent, and I kept them but the wash is not as nice, the pockets kind of stretch out, and these jeans are a better shape and quality of colors. If you're an apple shape and hard to fit, I really recommend these. I'm so happy to be able to buy into a trend for less than half the cost of the designer brands. What a find!!! ... show more

Just received the pants today, and I'm OBSESSED. These jeans are very close perfection in my opinion! For starters, I love the distressed look without having holes or looking TOO distressed. They look like something that would say Ralph Lauren on the label tbh. The fabric is soft (not a stiff denim), not too thin or too thick, and they have a nice amount of stretch to them. I'm usually a size 10 (but sometimes 12 depending on the brand). For reference, I'm 5'6" and 170 lbs. I ordered a size 12 because I don't like anything tight around my waist and I was concerned with them running small. The 12 fits nicely and I DO think that if I ordered a size 10, they may have pulled around the waist just enough to be able to see some of the white interior of the pockets (I hope that makes sense). The legs have just the right amount of "barrel" to them (not as barrel shaped as FP jeans). These jeans are PERFECT for anyone looking to try out the barrel jeans trend without committing to a full on barrel jean. I'd rate these jeans 10/10 and ended up ordering 2 more in other colors!!! I had low expectations for the price, but these are surprisingly flattering and comfortable. One caveat is that you need to size up. I usually wear a size 4 jeans so I ordered a size 6. They fit comfortably but are tighter in the waist and hips than my barrel jeans from Anthro. So if you want more of a baggy look at the top, you'll want to go up two sizes. I am 5'2" and the length is just right for me, so for a taller person they might be too short. The fabric is super stretchy and comfortable, color is good. They are cheaper looking than the Antro/Free People versions, but also $125 less. :-) Updated: after a couple of washings and frequent wear, the jeans are pilling. I have never seen denim pill before, so it must be from the quantity of viscose that makes them soft? I'm glad I have a pill shaver but just thought I'd mention it. ... show more

This style was out of my usual fitted comfort zone, but I am happy with them. I'm 5'1", 115# and the size 4 is a little big but lays well at the waist/tummy. Don't know how long they'll be in style, but for now, it's a cute updated look. Nice fabric and quality.

Ok, I had zero expectations for these due to the price point. I’m floored. They look exactly like a pair of Z&V pants I bought in black for $400 that I wear all the time. I normally wear a 24 in denim so was worried a 4 Amazon pants would be too big, but I love the loose fit. They are not too big that I look foolish, but the stretch is great so you can wear them super high waisted or pull them down lower for a hip hug fit. All- size down. If there was a 2 I would have gotten them but I’m truly happy with the 4. They don’t look too big and can be styled for work with a heel or weekend with a sneaker. I got them in the faded purple Color. It’s better than I expected. These pants look super well done and from an up-market denim brand like mother or agolde. I don’t think this trend is going anywhere for a while. I got the $400 Pants mentioned above 3 years ago. Now I need more colors ! ... show more

Well, first of all, they are comfortable. I got my normal size and they fit fine. Lots of stretch in the denim, but I think that's where the problem lies. Because they are stretch denim, they fit like a skinny jean until they got to my knees, and then got baggy. It's an awkward look. I was hoping for a looser fit that tapered toward the ankles. I think the thinner fabric just doesn't provide the structure for these to look right either. The color wash of the jean wasn't a nice gradient fade, but was straight across the thigh in a line. These are so flattering! I thought that they might look like balloons on my small frame, but they hug the butt and flow nicely. I bought these because I need something loose and flexible for my work. They are so reasonable that I will be purchasing another pair. The quality is amazing for the price. The material is stretchy, but it has the feel of denim and they were comfortable the moment I tried them on. I washed them before wearing them as I always wash my clothes before I wear them, but truthfully, there was no odor to the pants when I unpacked them. Again, other brands are several dollars more than these jeans so for me they are a deal and meet my needs. ... show more
