Packaged snug, no damage to desk in transit. Instructions were great, with enlargement pics within the pics. That helped a few times. Bag of screws were marked with letters. This desk is light-weight and easy to assemble for a single person. It took me about 50 minutes to assemble it myself, and I only needed the tools provided, with one caveat. There were two holes that had metal shaving obstructions that prevented me from properly threading the screws. I used a drill bit to clear those and continue the assembly. It is definitely strong enough to hold the computer and books that I will be putting on it. Because it is mostly metal, it jiggles more than other desks that I have owned, but I am just fine with that. This desk was purchased for our home office. It's a beautiful color top, and the extra shelf is nice too. I like the hooks on the ends for headphones and my laptop backpack.
