These paint sticks are truly the best. I’m an infant and toddler teacher and got these for my class. Young children don’t always have the fine motor strength to use enough pressure to get the color out of crayons that older children do and sometimes markers can be hard to clean. Wet paint is good to use but is always messy and many young children just want to put it in their mouths. These paint sticks were so easy to use, quick to dry, so creamy, and the colors were so bright and amazing. It really looked like paint once it was dry. You could layer the paints without blending and it felt so satisfying to use. I wish they made these in thinner sticks to make more detailed art for older children. My own kids (4 & 2) also loved these. They spent more time making art with these than other crayons or markers. These are way better than gel crayons which don’t always dry and often transfer colors to other things if the paper rubs against another material long after being used. The cleanup is so easy. They wash right off of hands and tabletops. I haven’t tried washing out of fabrics yet but it seems like it will come out with ease. I love these and will always keep a set on hand. ... show more

I bought this for my two year old grandson and he loves them. It’s easy to clean up to but more importantly, the bold colors hold his interest for quite a long time, which is pretty difficult for a two year old! Quality is great too and he holds them easily!

I got these for my daughter for her 5th birthdat. She loves painting and has gone through many water color pallets. These are much easier for her to use. The lids do snap on tightly so she asks for assistance in opening the paint sticks. These are easy for her small hands to hold and work with. They are decent to control where you want the placement of the colors. A great range of colors. The paint dries within seconds and can be layed for darker tones or a more opaque coloration. The only time the paper was a little wet was when it was completely covered in a color, thickly. Glad I also got the option witb the drawing pad. The paper has a nice thickness and is easy to use the sticks on. I tear a page out of the book for her to use. Her first painting was "mommy" (me), I was very flattered. The media could not be loaded. When working with kids, it's a challenge to achieve subtle, natural colors and blends! We used these for a prairie-themed moving panorama (AKA Crankie) workshop at a community art venue and it was so great to have subtle colors! Some other brands of tempera sticks either won't blend with water or are greasy or chunky. These are very nice, go on smoothly, dry quickly, and easily reanimate with a damp sponge to blend. Did I mention how much I loved the colors?! The images show the backlit panorama, which was drawn on a roll of white Tyvek.
