This is so flimsy that just finding out the very orderiferice smelly dye used on this reminds me of petroleum. The dye rinsed in running water continued bleeding off for 10 minutes. I took it and hung it outside go air out and could still detect an odor. The threads just from wringing it out showed damage. And several of the fringes just came off. This might serve as scarf to keep sun off but the other uses like filtering water from snow, etc would be suspect due to the lingering smell. I will not be trying that out! I will be looking through other offers to find a real version of this item until I locate a true example as these ARE NOT even close. If you don't mind giving off the used oil smell then buy and use this. If you want a real true Shemagh then keep looking!!! This is not even close. ... show more

Washed gentle with cold and air fluffed- it ruined it, bought one from another seller before spotting this wonderful green color, washed them together, it had held up fine,- unfortunately missed my return window. But you can see from the pic how it scrunched itself up- threads broke and came apart completely in others, I know from sewing that the rippling is caused by mixing incompatible threads and fibers, in this case it's the warp and weft threads. I was surprised that it formed a hole, If not for that I would wear it like it came like that. Dissapointed ... show more

Loved this. Nice cottony texture,but not too soft so has some body. Huge. . Bought it for sun protection while out doing photography. Watched a video to learn to wrap face and head, not hard to do and it stays put comfortably

    • Love the colors. They are not permanent dye.
Love the Shemagh and the bright colors. Unfortunately, the dye is not set and runs even in cold water. I used vinegar and salt to set the dye but, unfortunately, it did not work well. So beware. Otherwise I love the shemagh.

I bought this for camping/outdoors, but it was already useful in my home when i needed to wrap something up. Its really giant, so it can hold quite a bit of whatever you want to carry, and it certainly fits over my giant head. Haven't tried it in the woods but I'm sure its going to be a core part of my kit. At the very least, its quite soft, so i think it would be nice to lay on. ... show more

a few months ago i bought a beach towel almost the same as this got idea and finally found a good price and good material good for sweat,dust,sun protection neck,face i'm using it as a hand drying towel light weight sort of heavy duty if you put a filter in it fold around it and tie with filter over mouth might make good mask for cleaning and such/wash or rinse good before use to remove extra dye it will have a lot ... show more
