For the price, this is a great corset. I purchased the gold one in a size large (I'm 5'1 155lbs, large bust, smaller waist) and it works well, if a little snug. The straps adjust a couple of sizes, so I was able to get a good fit without them falling down. It has some steel boning at least near the hooks in front, which means I can lace it up fairly tightly. I don't go as snug with it as I would my 100% steel boned one however. It still gives me a flattering waist though and definitely holds everything in! I've bought other corsets on amazon that weren't nearly as good as this one. it's not as restricting as my fully steel boned corset that I bought at a renfair for 5 times as much, but it's damned good quality for the price! ... show more

I wear an American size 10-12. I ordered a 3XL which per the listing fits an American 12-14. This was so small that even after opening the strings as far as possible without going past the privacy panel, I still had 3+ inches before I could come close to closing it. First of all no one in a 10-12 range should have to order in a size 3XL or larger. Second if your going to be so obnoxiously fat shaming with your sizing at least get the chart right so we can order something we will keep.     • Beautiful corset, terrible boning
This corset looks just as pictured (I purchased the black velvet one). I only have a couple complaints about it. The straps are too long, but that's an easy fix, I can simply sew them a bit shorter. They aren't extremely long like on some other corset styles I've seen, but just long enough they gap and fall off the shoulder some. The spiral steel boning throughout the corset is laughable. The front busks are great, very sturdy and strong, but the spiral steel boning is very narrow and very thin, and flaps around like plastic boning when removed. I removed all the spiral steel, and replaced it with 3/16" flat spiral steel boning I purchased here on Amazon. I didn't expect double steel boning/tight lacing quality, but I did expect better than what this is boned with. Overall it fit as I expected. I have a 29.5" waist, 37.5" hips and ordered a medium. There is some space in the back, obviously, but the modesty panel covers it. I'm happy with this purchase overall, but it could stand to be $5-$10 cheaper for the quality of it. I host the Santa Pub Crawl in my city and the corset worked great for my costume. While the listing says to match with your natural waist, I could have used a size smaller to get the full corset effect. I used to have a 27' waist and would have fit an L (26-28") waist but I've gained a bit over the last couple years so I purchased an XL (28-30"). Costume wise and for extended wear the XL was a good choice because I could breath and move but it didn't really suck me in and I had to have it laced completely closed in the back. If I were to purchase for sexiness factor I would suggest sizing down a size. I thought about returning the item prior to my event but I figured comfort was key since I wasn't going to be doing a bunch of costume changes this year. I still got snarky comments from women even though I opted for comfort over fit....I guess it just means the top is sexy no matter what! ... show more

    • Beautiful corset, lovely fabric, with some unfortunate sizing issues for someone who wears a 14/16 dress
This is a beautiful corset - I love the vintage style and quality of the material, and the construction (from the opinion of someone who sews) is well done. That said, even though I used the sizing chart (I wear a size 14/16, L/XL dress and 38D/40C bra, depending on brand, have a 35" waist, 45" hips, an hourglass figure and purchased the 4XL), I found that I had to loosen this corset almost to the widest width allowable in order to get it to fit around my waist - and when I did this, the shoulder straps were way too wide and didn't stay up (even when I tried to cinch at the top only). This was originally purchased for a steampunk costume - unfortunately, it just didn't work for me, so I reluctantly returned it - and because this particular fabric wasn't available to try in 5XL, I ended up going with another option. ... show more
