You've heard of hourglass figures? I have an hour and a half glass figure. And I'm short too, 5'3. So no adorable one piece swimsuit for me. I've got to piecemeal durable, wearable, "comfortable" items that last through playing with the grandkids as well as partying with posse. These Shapermint High Waisted Bottoms (size Large) are perfect. Now, full disclosure, they are not 'high waisted' on me. They fully cover and shape "compress" my bum and belly, stopping at my waist. Which for me, is brilliant. They don't roll down. They don't bum creep up. They stay put. No tugging, pulling, or re-adjustment in anyway. I was suggested to buy an XL, which I did last year and returned them. There was no sucking me in, and they were too long on my torso. This year I was desperate and thought what the heck, try again with a Large, and wa-la, Ideal. And I'm leaving this review, because I'm now buying 4 more for the summer. Woot woot

These are very cute bottoms that fit well once I got them on. I think the openings are a bit tight and stiff for something labeled compression, I heard the scary sounds of threads popping as I pulled them over my hips. They are incredibly flattering on, but I did not feel like I was wearing shape wear like I expected. This could be good or bad depending on your view. I wanted a little more shaping than what they provided, but the ruching does do it’s job.

Pros- size is accurate, gives amazing tummy control (that menopause belly is almost invisible) I’m not saying you will be instantly thin but you won’t have a bump. It really smooths you out! Fit is pretty comfortable and the front style is flattering. I would even be comfortable wearing a bikini top with these. They come up pretty high. High quality material. Pretty thick and definitely has full coverage. Cons- it makes you have a uni-butt. Not super flattering or shaping back there. A little bit of runching would make these a 5 star.

Comfortable bodacious fit. Great material and again a great fit in both front and back. Loving the “retro” design of a high waist ruched swim bottom. Always remember all swim suits order one size up. I’m 5’2” and 150 pounds. Normally wear a size 10-12 in clothing but swim wear up one size to a 14.

Super comfortable and holds the mama tummy in well. The top doesn't dig into your side creating a over roll. Whoever isn't comfortable with their mid section will be super happy with swim bottom.

These do fit well around my bit and thighs, but they are VERY high waisted- and basically will just give a 1 piece effect for any of my bathing suit tops- I don’t mind it- and they look fine with my tankini and longer/cropped bikini tops- but looks really awkward with my smaller/more traditional bikini tops because they come up so high and squeeze awkwardly at the waistband to make it just unflattering. I also feel like there’s not much support/compression in my lower stomach area, and that it’s more high up- which is weird because I’m very very pear shaped and usually have the opposite issue with gapping at the top or too tight around my hips. Not sure what shape this was designed for- but not so sure it’s for me. I’m going to keep for now as a back up for days I need it- but would not buy again.
