Yesterday I (and my brother) went fishing in the Long Island Sound in NY and harvested my limit - 6 fish, ranging from 2lbs to 16+lbs, and nearly 3’ long. This purchase was amazing. I needed it to make a Halloween costume for my cat. He was going to be oogie boogie I didn’t use it as a sack but I did play around with it when I opened it. Definitely great if you’re packing potatoes or even using it as a sack race great quality, nice and thick.

Using for Sam’s bag in Trick R Treat. You do have to steam out the wrinkles. I also suggest leaving the bag outside overnight to get rid of the smell

Although this bag seems to be sturdy and it is thick enough, since I’ve not used it yet, I’m not sure if the durability. My main concern is the terrible chemical smell that I couldn’t get out even after soaking in water mixture containing bleach, vinegar and baking soda. How toxic is this chemical and why is it so terribly smelly?

These burlap bags were everything I expected. Good quality, heavy sacks. Perfect size for the potato sack race at our recent bday party. Of course they smell like the oils the burlap is treated in, but that was to be expected. I let them air out outside for a couple of days, which helped. Shipping was prompt and product came exactly as described. If you need burlap bags, order these. I’m always happy to support small businesses, but especially when owned by a veteran. I grew up on dairy farm and used many burlap bags aka "gunny sacks". These were used to store freshly ground grain. These bags have the same quality and size of those I used back in the day ie the 50's /60's. Even the smell is the same. Yes, it has a slight chemical scent but that's OK. I plan to use them for potato storage. The thread weave is strong and the seams look to be sewed very tight. Pro rated if I use them for ten years it comes to $.38 per year. Great value for this size bag.....

I hoped these would hold up better for keeping my fish fresh while kayak fishing. I have had much better ones in the past that would hold up while wet.
