Very cute, with many commands and responsive remote. I got this as a gift for a 3.9 year old. She is obsessed with all things unicorn. I'm glad to report that this did not disappoint. I bought this unicorn for my 5 year old grand daughter. It has many features, many which she is not old enough to figure out…like programming additional commands and actions into the unicorn but her parents are helping her add more. She gets a kick out of “teaching” her unicorn new tricks. It is made out of plastic but it feels pretty solid and though. It has the cutest most descriptive eyes and a bright. Beautiful flowing mane. The unicorn dances, follows you with gestures, can be fed treats and can roam around the room without bumping into things. I love that it is rechargeable so you do not use a ton of batteries but the remote control does need batteries. I picked this up for my daughter's birthday gift and she loves it! This being her first RC toy she was thrilled working the controller. It can go front, back, and turn left or right. She can also make the unicorn reel (sit down) with a dedicated button. The toy has a built in sensor that detects obstacles and will try to go around them. I like that fact that it's rechargeable, except the controller (boo!), requiring 2 AAA batteries. It also comes with programming spoons for it to do various movements without controller input. Most remote controlled toys are usually geared toward boys so when I came across this I grabbed it for my 6 year old granddaughter. The remote control allows the robot to step, slide, run, sit, stand, and dance. It can also be used in three other modes. Gesture Mode - this mode is programmed to obey hand gestures, like forward, backwards, and turning left or right. Programming Mode - this mode can record up to 30 moves that the rebot can instantly replay. Adventure mode - this mode allows the robot to self navigate around obstacles. Like it will turn before running into the wall. Overall, this is a great toy. I believe it is too advanced for a 6 year old to learn without the help of a parent. ... show more

This little unicorn toy is lightyears ahead of the animated toys I remember from my son's childhood. It has three different modes. Adventure mode lets the toy go on its own and it is able to avoid obstacles. Programming mode allows you to feed it different treats to get it to do specific things. The makers also relate this mode to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Lastly, in my opinion, the most interactive mode is "Gesture" mode, where your hand movements determine how the unicorn will move. Kids can feel like they are actually playing with their little unicorn friend! The toy itself is a decent size. A little bigger than I had pictured, but not so big that it could not be easily picked up by a younger child. It is adorable! The big round eyes change color to let you know which mode it is in. The horn is actually the "on/off" button! It is rechargeable, which is AWESOME, but even without power, it is a sweet little companion for any child that loves horses, unicorns, and make believe. The recommended age range for the Unicorn Toy is a bit vague, but I would say it's more ideal for children 8-10. That doesn't mean that a younger child would not enjoy it. They may need help in learning how to operate it, though. Children older than 10 could also enjoy it. I could easily see my 13 year old niece wanting this toy. Bought this for my 6 year old daughter & we've had so much fun playing with it! The RC remote is the easiest to control & we're figuring out the gestures. My daughter has a couple of them down so far, but it definitely helps with dexterity & remembering patterns. Looking forward to programming our own with the keys. This adorable little unicorn robot is so cute! As soon as my 4-year-old niece saw this toy, her eyes lit up with joy. She was drawn to the unicorn's cute pink and purple design. Setting up the remote control was easy. She loves making it walk, dance, run, and sit. The robot has different play modes allowing for tons of variety. Gesture mode is her favorite because she gets to wave her hands to direct the movements. I'm impressed by the sturdy construction and smooth mobility of this robot.
