I'll start by saying it fit exactly as expected - and I love it. I'm 5'1" and currently 166 lb, so a bit "fluffy," and the XL fit perfectly. I'll go over each part of the costume and mention what I did and didn't like, but I would 100% buy this again if I needed to. This costume makes me feel fabulous and I usually hate the way I look. I would wear this every day if it wouldn't be weird. It hugs all the right curves, accentuates the best, and hides all the rest. Love it! The top: There is a zipper in the back of the top, which I was able to do myself easily, and the ribbon in front comes pre-laced on half of the eyelets. I undid that and ran it through all of them. I didn't pull it tight though, because I had read a few other reviews that warned about pulling too tight and potentially ripping out the eyelets, so I just gave it a gentle tug to tighten the ribbon and tied it up. It was 'low cut' but not slutty, though definitely be sure to at least wear a bra under it in case you decide to lean forward. It rides about an inch or two higher on my stomach than I was comfortable with, but as everyone else did, I just brought the skirt up a few inches and it was perfect! Felt more comfortable, too. The sleeves: Not much to say about them; they are small ruffles of fabric on an elastic band. I like them because they help hide the "extra" I have on my upper arms, but you can leave them off and it still looks great. The skirt: This is probably my favorite part. It's shorter in front and longer in the back, which I LOVE, and it's got three different layers of fabric so buying a petticoat to go underneath isn't actually required. I bought one anyway, but it hasn't arrived yet. Until then, honestly, the skirt looks great on its own and has enough flare to it just from my hips that it doesn't really need any extra fluff. But I'm excited to see how it looks when my petticoat arrives, so if I remember to update this next week, I will. This skirt has an elastic band so it can fit a great range of sizes and hip widths. I brought it up a little at my waist to cover my stomach, and it still went just longer than mid-thigh in front. The belt: This is probably the only part that I was disappointed with. It's just a piece of fabric with a plastic end, but no hook or fastener or any way to hold it in place aside from tucking it into a loop next to the buckle. It's also very short, so it just barely went around my waist. If I can find a safety pin, I might be able to pin the end down and keep the belt on without being constantly conscious of it, but the costume still looks great even without the belt. The hat: The hat is also kind of cheaply made, but easier to fix than the belt. It does come a little squished, and the feather is long and straight rather than curvy and fluffy, but it still looks great (and honestly, do all pirates have perfect looking hats?). I'm going to do what a few other reviewers suggested and steam it and reshape it. All in all, amazing costume. It makes me feel fantastic and I can't wait to find every excuse to wear it. (Also, fun fact, if you take off the belt and hat, it can double as a barmaid outfit. ;) )

I was unsure based on reviews on what size I should order. I am 5'2' 150lbs 36dd/31/40. I am very short waisted. I was able to find this in a local store and try it on then purchased online. I went with the large. It is snug but I was still able to zip it up all on my own with out struggle. Top: Others have mentioned that the looping in the front is broken or missing.. from what I am able to count on the pic and what there is.. it seems like 1 row of loops is missing. but no signs of damage. also people mentioned that the ribbon doesn't go all the way to the top like shown in the picture. I think that it does however if you are bigger busted the rouging that is sewn in gets stretched out giving you more material coverage and an empty ribbon look. I may sew two more loops to resolve this look. Other have said that the top is way to short.. For me this was not an issue. Like I said.. I am short waisted.. but also if the skirt is worn at the natural waist (which most of us don't wear our jeans and pants there so it seems odd, but that seems to be how this was designed to be worn) Skirt: awesome. A lot a material lays perfect. the costume DOESNOT come with the petti skirt, so if you want one you have to buy it. I have one already but it isn't long enough to be seen, so I made a white tutu and that makes the skirt a little too fluffy. but I like the look with out anything. Belt: everything that you have read is true.. it is cheap, flimsy and the buckle is too heavy. it will have to be pinned to stay in place. Hat: a little smashed, but not too bad. I could wear it as is however I will try steaming it. the feather is full but not as long as what is pictured. I may buy another plume.. but this one will do if I run out of time. Arm cuffs are perfect. I plan on wearing as in the pic, adding some embelishments to my hair, jewelry, maybe add some chains, tall leather platform boots.. unsure about leg wear or boot socks. BTW.. the one that I tried on in the store with tax would have cost me sixty five dollars.. so I count this as an awesome score. ****update. I wore this out. I did end up using a diff belt. I also wore a corset under it to cinch my waist which helped the costume material lay better and also gave me a better lift. The hat stayed on all night. I got a lot of compliments.

I ordered a size L for my 5'5" 170 lb curvy self. Just a back round on my frame, I usually wear mens medium t-shirts perfectly, and a size 12-14 jeans from Old Navy, anyone that has struggled to buy jeans knows how GREAT Old Navy fits;), and I wear a 34B. So, there was a little bit of room left in the bust of this pirate top, but if you are that concerned, you can always wear a cami under it for modesty. Looking at the pic online, I was initially concerned with the length of the skirt. It looks a little short, but she must have hiked it up just for the advertisement. Because, I had the skirt sit just at the bottom of the shirt, and the length was longer than the pic shows. A comfortable length for a girl that doesn't wear shorts, much above the knee. The top IS short. Like, at my navel, but if you pull the skirt up just a bit, it hides the tummy. I ordered the white pettiskirt that Amazon suggests getting and it really DOES make the outfit! I still bought some lace shorts to wear under and GLAD I DID because it was windy out that day! ;) The ONLY reasons for 4 stars is that like a few other ladies, one of the loops that the ribbon threads through on the front of the shirt came loose as soon as I tried it on. But a little hot glue fixed that in a jiff. And the belt doesn't stay tight by itself. maybe a safety pin, or if you're crafty, sew (or hot glue) some velcro on it. I just tucked it under and it held ok. I also had to reshape the hat. You can't be angry that it got squashed in the mail, I just got it a little wet in the sink and held it firmly how I wanted it while I blow dried it. Then I used TP rolls to keep it rounded on the sides and not squashed flat. The arm bands fit comfortably, however they did leave a little mark after wearing them for a few hours, but what are ya gonna do? Bottom line, it is a SUPER CUTE costume and the price is right! It was comfortable and made me feel like a sexy wench LOL

Love this costume!! I am 5'7 and 127 lbs. I bought a small. I would say get one size larger than you need! I fit in it perfectly! :) I bought this costume for Renn Fest this weekend! The shipping was super quick too! I picked 2 day, but it came in a day! :) Thanks amazon. As for the costume itself: The Top: The most important part of the costume, and I think and it's pretty good quality for what I paid! :) The strings came weaved every other hole, BE REALLY CAREFUL WITH THE THREADS AND THE LOOPS, THEY ARE REALLY FRAGILE!! DO NOT PULL ON THE STRINGS!! I carefully threaded the ribbon through each loop, the top looks fantastic! And I really love how it hides all parts of your bra!! Including your bra straps!! :) The Skirt: You will automatically need to buy a white petticoat, I REALLY suggest this! It not only makes your costume come to life, but it makes your skirt a little longer in the front! I'm 5'7 and it fit like a mini skirt, and to add about 3 inches more, I added my white petticoat skirt :) be sure to fluff it up before putting the skirt on! :) I love the cascading layers in the skirt & I love the back! The Sleeves: Just like the picture, might be a little uncomfy if your arms aren't used to it. Since my arms are somewhat slim, I had no problems here :) They are probably a little smaller than I expected, and they are just pieces of material, I thought they were going to be a capped sleeve. :) No matter, it all works though! The Belt: I am opting to not use this item, only because I think the belt takes away from the top, covering most of the weaved part for me, and the belt's material itself is pretty cheapy, so I have a feeling it wouldn't really stay on well. If you want to use the belt for this costume, GET 3M CLEAR DOUBLE SIDED TAPE!! The Hat: Was pretty squished, but I am not going to wear this for my costume either. :) Overall: The costume is really amazing & I am impressed with the quality for spending under $50!!! :) Would highly recommend!!

The costume came quick, I was super nervous as I never order clothes online bc they always end up being too short on my long legs and torso. Im tall 5'9 about 170-180, 38DD bra size. Reading reviews and looking at pics helped me compare my body/size with others. So I ordered a large, it fits juuust perfect. Something to consider before I get into the costume, when u put it on your not going to look like a pirate lol this costume could pass as a couple different things. Someone said bar maiden in there review and I think it's more accurate. That said it's cheap bc you still need to buy all the stuff that's actually gonna make it into a pirate costume. I love it but its definitely a close fit. The skirt is my favorite part it has 3 layers so i really didn't feel the need to buy a petticoat it doesn't look flat on me but I can see the wind blowing it up as it is made to be shorter in the front. I wasn't planning on showing any stomach so I was relieved when I could line up the skirt and top without the skirt being tooo short. I could also adjust the 'corset' strings to be more flattering even though alot of people said don't pull them, I was able to, just don't TUG them. The thing that threw me off was when I first put the top on and zipped it, the collar was almost up to my neck. I wanted it to look like the picture and make my girls look perfect. I switched to a push up bra, then once it was zipped I reached down and pulled my boobs in my bra UP while I pulled the shirt down. After that they stayed like that. Problem solved, just takes a little adjusting. Halloween costumes are always a little cheaply made in my opinion unless you DIY so I have no complaints regarding fabric, i would recommend! P.s the hat sucks like everyone has said, I stuck it on a mannequin for a week to get shape and it's still lopsided. Probably going to do a scarf In my hair with an eye patch instead.

I ordered this costume for Halloween 2020. It is very cute. However I should have gone with my guts and ordered size up to begin with as I couldn't breath in corset size S, but the skirt did fit me well. The arm things stated that the size was XS-S. If that how this whole costume is made than makes sense why I had to go for M. ( I am 5'5" and 135 LBs). It runs small. But size medium corset was larger than me, I had to put few stitches in under arms area as the lacing in front doesn't go all the way up to tigh the chest area up. The skirt fit well as it has stretchy rubber, and having fish net stocking and a pettycoat underneath it was actually better having a skirt that is a bit loose. The hat has stitches in a wrong place so the whole triangle was crooked, I added another stitch to balance it out after steaming it up to give it a shape. Overal costume is nice, runs smaller, not that greatly made but ok made. Because it required so many alterations I give it 3 stars.

I absolutely LOVE this costume, and you can't beat the price here on Amazon (nearly twice the price at the local Halloween store) Having said that the top is SHORT! It does not reach anywhere near the hemline of the skirt. For reference I am 5'7" 135 and a 32 DD. I bought a medium, and while it fits well everywhere, the bottom of the top is REALLY short. I put a brown cami underneath. Still sexy but not revealing, helped cover the girls as well since showing skin was not the look I wanted. I assumed the top would be a bit revealing of the girls, but I did not plan on showing off my midriff as well. The quality is decent considering what you get for the price. It comes with the hat, top, sleeves, skirt and belt. The belt does not hold its place and I plan on using a safety pin when I wear it to accommodate this. The hat was a bit smashed, but it will do the job and it came WITH the costume unlike others at a higher price. I tried on a pirate costume at nearly double the price and did not include nearly as much, yet the stitching was coming apart and not sewn properly at the seems. People complaining about price vs. quality have probably not been shopping for a Halloween costume recently as I feel it is a very good value, here on amazon at least.

SO... I expected the size of this to fit a women's size 16-18, but when I looked at the package it said size 14-16. I almost gave up and returned it right then and there, but decided to try it on since I other accessories just for this outfit anyway. I was lucky it fit rather nicely. I wear a women's 18, 38 DDD, 39" waist, and 48" hips. The skirt & top: Just as other reviews had said. It is the best part of the costume with an adorably sexy high-low look. It flows nad swings when you walk, which I love! I opted to get the petticoat as well since I am 5' 8" and I am glad I did once I put on the top. The top is fairly short and falls just about an inch below my belly button and I have a short torso. I end up showing some midriff and have to hike up the skirt to make it piece together. A plus for the shirt and why I was able to fit it: it has a zipper in the back that goes from mid back to the BOTTOM of the shirt-so you can zip yourself in. I had to pull the shirt down more as well to fit my bosom in and end up looking like the model when it's all said and done. The top also is a little tight around the belly, just to warn you. If your waist and bust are bigger than mine, you may want to look elsewhere for a pirate costume- I just fit in it, but buy at your own risk. The back is also full coverage, so you can wear whatever bra your heart desires for the night. There are also straps to hook the skirt and shirt together if you want, but opted not to bother with them. I may end wearing something underneath it all in case of a midriff issue. The accessories: The belt is extremely cheap looking. I plan on pairing my own leather belt and maybe trying to take off the buckle from the costume belt since it has skull & crossbones on it. The little sleeves are as expected and can easily fit anywhere on the arm from the wrist to the upper arm without being too tight. The hat does come a little squished, but it's made out of foam and can be easily reshaped, but I don't expect it to be perfect and I also think it adds a nice touch to the rugged pirate look. Also, my feather was fine. Hope this was helpful!!
