  • "COVID PRICE"
Size: 1.75 Pound (Pack of 1)
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT, PRE-COVID19 PRICE AT $6.49 FOR 28 OZ CAN. IT'S A GREAT PRODUCT LIKE ALL OF KEYSTONE'S OTHER CANNED MEATS, GREAT FOR STEWS, CHILI, TACO'S, CHICKEN SALAD, TURKEY SALAD, AND BBQ PORK AND BBQ BEEF SANDWICH'S. I TALKED WITH THE VP OF KEYSTONE, AND HE TOLD ME THEY WILL BE RAMPING UP PRODUCTION SOON OF THE GROUND BEEF. MY ADVICE TO EVERYONE IS BUY DIRECT FROM KEYSTONE, GREAT PRODUCT, EXCELLLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SHIPPING WAS FANTASTIC. IT IS A SHAMEFUL ACT THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS HEALTH CRISIS FOR THIER OWN BENEFIT. ... show more

  • Only 16 ounces of beef / 12 ounces of fluids and fat
Size: 1.75 Pound (Pack of 1)
I am big on "truth in advertising", and consequently very disappointed in this item. I live off-grid, so it isn't always easy to get to the store for fresh foods; consequently I always like to have canned goods for backup/for when I can't get to the store - and so I decided to try this item. I had previously purchased the 14 oz. can, and I found that it was packed with beef when I opened it, and it had very little liquid, and a little fat inside. On opening this "28 oz." version, I discovered that it as sswimiming in fluid and fat, and that it only contained 16 oz. of actual beef - the other 12 ounces of contents in the can were divided between liquid and fat. I will not purchase the "28 oz." can again because of this; it really isn't a good deal based on the actual contents and I recommend that the maker of this product needs to properly represent this item in the future. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good.
Size: 1.75 Pound (Pack of 1)
I bought this by accident, thinking it was the Keystone Beef. It sat in the pantry for several months because I was afraid it would be dogfood-like. A few nights ago, we were *starving*. I had not planned, thawed, or prepared anything; there were no eggs and no leftovers in the fridge, and we didn't want a bowl of cereal or can of soup (again). I opened this can of ground beef, expecting the worst. I was wrong! Because the pantry is cool, all the white fat had solidified and stuck to the top and side of the can. I drained the juice into a pet bowl. I dumped the blob of meat into a people bowl and broke it apart with a wooden spoon. It really was finely ground beef. No visible fat. It tasted like ground beef, just more finely ground than from the grocer. I made a quick stir fry for a warm, satisfying meal. I scraped the solid fat from the can into the garbage before recycling the can. So, chill the can so the fat solidifies, and go about making whatever you'd normally make with cooked ground beef. It really was ok for people food and my dogs did not get ground beef that night (the cats liked the juice, but that too may also be okay for people). I think it'll make a good chili. I bought 2 more cans on purpose yesterday :) ... show more

  • Its like cat food
Size: 1.75 Pound (Pack of 1)
This product is in my opinion not the most appetizing product I’ve ever purchased. When you open the can there is a lot of gelled fat with it and it has kind of a pinkish hue. The smell is like what you would smell when you open a can of cat food and it has the consistency of that no matter what you do with it whether you cook it all day in a sauce or try to hide it in someway you still have that soft gooey consistency of cat food. It in no way appears to be hamburger I’m very disappointed and I won’t ever order this product again ... show more

  • Buy Buy Buy!
Size: 1.75 Pound (Pack of 1)
I'm currently 1200 miles out in the Aleutians and always looking for good store able foods. This is that. My wife and I bought one can to try, and I just finished it. It's mostly meat, very little water and fat. Taste is very good. It comes out in a can-shaped lump of burger, and I could see someone slicing patties out of it. Very Happy. ... show more

  • It’s What You Make It — I made it delicious!
Size: 1.75 Pound (Pack of 1)
This stuff was surprisingly good! Mind you, it is not the least bit appetizing AS IS, straight out of the can, but it fixes up really well into whatever you normally do with loose fried or stewed ground beef. It is “edible” straight from the can, but I wouldn’t recommend that unless you were using it in a power outage and had no way to heat or cook food. Direct from the can, it smelled like corned beef and tasted a bit like it too. Blegh. I’ll allow that it sort of looked like dog food at first — it’s a lump of ground meat in a can, after all; but that resemblance disappears once you mince and loosen it up with a fork. You’ll want to separate the liquid and the globs of congealed fat before you crush the meat. Then don’t just dump it in a pan and heat it - that would be gross; it’s plain meat steamed with no seasoning other than salt. First mix in whatever seasonings you would ordinarily use for your ground beef recipe. Heat up some (or all) of the fat, fry some fresh onion and garlic in it, then add the seasoned meat and cook it the same as if you were working with raw hamburger meat - just with far less time and none of that tedious chop-chop-chop to break up the chunks. If it needs liquid, add back the juices you set aside earlier. This is also where you would add sauce if you’re going for that kind of dish. If you want the meat to taste like the seasonings are really cooked in, leave it on the lowest heat and let it slowly simmer. I used the 28oz can for my first test and it was quite a nice feast for two. The 14oz will suit us better for a single meal. I’ll be adding this to my Subscribe and Save and not just for emergencies. It saves a lot of the hassle of working with raw ground beef, and conveniently separates the fat so I can have a far less greasy end product. ... show more

  • REJECT CANS
Size: 1.75 Pound (Pack of 1)
Product is OK. BUT...the cans are usually dented very badly! Several cans in in the box of 12 were very badly dented. They were put into the box dented, as the box had no damage on it.
