Love this tie dye. I have used Tulip dye in the past and it is so messy and the dye runs when you wash it - not to mention how it stains my hands! This dye is wonderful stuff. I tie dyed more than a dozen baby onsies and a dozen baby socks and still had lots of dye left over. It is true that the dye doesn't get into the creases as well as a poured dye if you are doing a design where you have the item balled up with rubber bands - I just made sure i pulled the creases apart and sprayed into all the folds. The spray tops are a bit of a pain since the neon colors especially seem to like to clump a bit. I just diluted the colors a little with water and that helped and didn't seem to affect the actual color on the shirt at all. I plan to buy some small squeeze bottles to put the dye in to make rubber banded designs easier in the future. Hours of spraying did a number on my index finger also - but it was worth it! Washed all the stuff first and then dyed it damp. Let it air dry and then made sure to heat set it in the dryer for half an hour. I made sure to only put like colors together. Then washed in hot water and dryed in the dryer again. I did not see any color washing out in the washing machine and the colors were almost as bright when I was done as when I sprayed them. There was a tiny amount of fading after washing in the hot water, but hardly noticeable. Best of all, I was able to simply wipe the area where I sprayed clean with a damp cloth and all they dye came right off of my hands with soapy water and I didn't use gloves at all so they were pretty well covered in dye. I did need to use a nail brush for my nails and cuticles, but it still came right off. I will say I doubt the dye would go as far as they say if you want really saturated shirts and don't dilute the dye at all, but I have the same problem with the Tulip dye - I just like less white on the shirt. We used this for a “reverse tie dye” weekend craft project (drizzle bleach over black T-shirts, then spray bleached-out areas with color). These blend well and are pretty precise for sprayers. Didn’t have any issue with clogging. Colors looked great. Some fading later but the kids loved their shirts so much that they are in heavy rotation! Will def use again. ... show more

I love this! Super easy, super fun! Just make absolutely certain you wash your item first. Otherwise, the color will "roll off". I made this mistake. I still love how they turned out, but it's a massive difference. Photos are prewashed and after wash. I did not wash these prior to dying. I will next time. ... show more

    • Easy to use and great results

We used these on white t-shirts and face masks. We had an outdoor gathering and wanted to have fun face masks as party favors. The colors were really strong and have held through a few washes. We also did some with regular tie dye before these came in and these have much brighter color than the traditional tie dye (where you have to soak and rinse and wash). I would say the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it takes a lot of spraying to get it to penetrate layers of fabric, although that may not be the desired effect, but it's also hard to tell until you undo the twisting etc of the tie dye process to see how much of the color spread/took. So easy to use - we had a family reunion and did shirts as an activity. The spray was easy to apply, bright, and dried quickly to minimize staining. I wish there was better control of the spray, but moving the nozzle closer or farther away from the shirt helped. We also dipped our shirts in water, wrung them out, then wrapped rubber bands around sections to help create our tie dye effect. ... show more

Was skeptical of the whole spray tie dye idea, but the colors held and the shirts all turns out great! I recommend really saturating the fabric with the spray, I actually haven’t tried ironing the shirts to color lock the dye in, I just threw them in a hot dryer but they turned out way better than any other rit tie dye I’ve tried. the sprayer stopped working on several of the bottles before i even finished my project. I was really excited about this color scheme but it did not hold up in the wash. it's now 4 washes later and surprisingly the yellow is the brightest color left. I wouldn't waste my money- the fact that they are spray on actually makes it harder and less accurate if you're trying to make any kind of design. ... show more

Super easy! One thing is you have to hold it close or it will spray wider than where you are trying to color. Clean up was a breeze! The longest part was air drying, but it was a rainy day.Washed the shirts after wearing and the color has held. Fun project, can't wait to do more!!!!
