This scrunchie just has a bunch of extra floppy material on a regular tight rubber band, and IS NOT oversized in the way people are expecting. Women are buying these to tie up hair at night. You're either stuck with a VERY loose tie if you wrap only once and usually need to wrap it twice, but then end up with crimped hair. So the whole point of having it oversized is to have it large enough to wrap twice without all the crimping.
