  • Solid Bass for beginners or seasoned players.
Size: Bass Guitar Color: Right Handed Surf Green
Honestly for the price, you cant go wrong. The sound on this instrument is solid. Mine was set up pretty well out of the box with little adjustment needed - I will assume that mileage varies on this depending on how long the instrument has been sitting in the Warehouse. This think plays smooth and the action is not bad at all. My only two negatives did not warrant me dropping stars, as they are pretty common in this price range for guitars. The first is that frets are a bit sharp and may need some filing. Mine are not too horrible, and honestly if I don't bother filing it, then I will just build a light callous on my left hand from the movement. The other issue, which is probably because I have been spoiled by my Ibanez, is that the fretboard ends at 20. I never noticed how much I hit the 21st and 22nd fret until I got this.... If you are rarely in that territory, its no big deal, but just something I think worth mentioning. As another aside, I feel like this would be a good brand to mess around with customizing or cutting your teeth on upgrading (like adding new pickups, replacing tuners, bridge, etc) so you are not practicing on something more costly. ... show more

  • Great value for the money.
Size: Bass Guitar Color: Right Handed Trans Purple
This bass is a great value for the money. Simple controls. Great tone straight out of the box. The action was a bit on the high side but was an easy fix. If you are a beginner and looking for a solid bass... This would be a great choice.

  • I purchased this for my daughter
Size: Bass Guitar Color: Right Handed Black
I purchase this for my daughter she plays in her middle school band. She really enjoys it. It was easy to set up. I’ve been a musician for 30 years and you can’t beat the price and the quality is very good. I would recommend it.

  • So worth it
Size: Bass Guitar Color: Right Handed Trans Purple
So this is my first instrument ive gotten from myself and God I'm in love. I've held all of my fathers different type of guitars and basses which were all on the heavier side. Not this baby. She is light weight and when I played her(very little that I know) she sounded pretty good right outta the box. Can't wait to actually learn more with her. ... show more

  • My Opinion, (22+ Years Experience)
Size: Bass Guitar Color: Right Handed Black
For starters, simply pulling it out of the package, I was impressed with the weight; the body has a good, solid weight to it that balances the neck. (My last bass was an Ernie Ball Stingray that cost nearly 10x as much... this bass actually FEELS very similar.) As for playability, I was able to tune it, then plug and play with no issues. I'm sure I will eventually fiddle with the intonation next time I change out the strings, but I can already tell it really won't be anything that drastic. The frets are also flush with the fretboard, (that alone gets a star), so they don't rub against my fingers when I slide my hand up and down the neck. I think that's gotta be a pet peeve for many bassists and guitarists alike. All and all, the bass I received is an overall great bass... not even factoring in the price. In my opinion... Is this a good beginner bass? Yes. Can this bass be used professionally? Yes. Can this bass be used for gigging? Yes. Can this bass be used for recording? Yes. Is this bass good for jazz? Yes. Is this bass good for rock music? Yes. Is this bass good for metal? Yes. Can this bass be used to fix a flat tire? No. At least I don't think so. I know a lot of experienced bassists get into the habit of being overly critical with basses because, I assume, they think it makes them look more knowledgeable... but in reality, it kinda just makes them look pretentious. You should always take overly critical reviews with a grain of salt. Then again, perhaps I simply lucked out and got the only good bass the factory ever made..? ... show more

  • COULD BE THE WORSE MISTAKE YOU EVER MAKE!
Size: Bass Guitar Color: Right Handed Surf Green
I received my Sawtooth P-Bass in an opened outer box and the inner guitar box was open and not even taped. I was surprised to find this bass in one piece. The finish was O.K. Not much care to remove dents or make sure that the glued pieces don’t show especially on the back of the bass. Just a little fill would have alleviated that. The neck is stout. Standard cheap bass fare. A Maple fretboard with little grain at all showing. I stopped counting at 4 bad frets so it was necessary to do a full fret job re-crown and end dress. Not my favorite thing to do but you can expect this on any of these cheap basses. I was surprised that the fretboard has rolled edges. That is always a plus. The tuners and bridge are serviceable cheapies. I replaced the tuners on mine with some Fender tuners I had and the bridge with a Hipshot Kickass bridge. I would have had to move the bridge anyway since it was installed too far forward to intonate this bass. I had to fill holes and re-drill for the new bridge. The wiring harness is a joke. Dime sized no name pots and a resistor that is so tiny you need a magnifying glass to see it. Fine for a beginner but not a pro. The pickups had a hollow weak sound. I changed the harness and pickups. The cavity was big enough to use American size pots. If you’re going to change pickups keep the original pickup covers and put them on the new pickups as the original covers themselves are oversized and it will leave a very noticeable gap if you use the covers that come with standard P-Bass pickups. Would I buy another? Not in this lifetime. ... show more
