I played guitar maybe 10 years or so ago, quit, and just bought this bad boy last week. it came really quickly. I never used a digital tuner before, so I read the instructions, got that puppy attached, got the guitar tuned, strummed out a few chords. Welll... brilliant. Honestly, it has really good sound! I obviously did not buy this guitar for the amp. Does the amp work? Absolutely. Does the amp do its job? ABSOLUTELY. Are you going to jam out in front of 100s with this amp? Absolutely not.... but up in your room, some wine, light some candles, you and your sexy budget priced (but decently built) strat?....absolutely yes. This guitar is beautiful. I bought the yellow (I think its called vanilla wafer cream between or something like that), and its honestly beautiful. The gig bag is nice, the strap-eh it gets the job done! the picks are cool. The strings the guitar came with are mediocre. You want a sweet sound, throw some Fender strings on her, and you'll be rocking out. This is honestly one of THE BEST purchases I have ever bought from amazon. Does it compare to a Fender? No lol. One day, if I actually stick to playing guitar, I'll treat myself to a 600$+ guitar. For now, this beauty is awesome!! I love it so much honestly!! It comes with everything that was shown in the picture, and it came relatively quickly too. I honestly should be rocking out instead of writing this review. But, I've read so many negative ones, I really want this decently priced, decently built guitar to get some credit. I’ve been playing guitar for 14 years and I got this for my son who is just getting into it. The color on this thing is insane, absolutely gorgeous. The guitar holds tune with no issue, no fret buzz, the action is surprising for a guitar priced this low. He loves it and it has solidified his interest in learning to play. The gig bag is a heavy duty and padded bag. The amp fits in the bag and is operated by a 9 volt battery. It’s not the greatest amp but it’s used for convenience, playing at the hotel, on the deck or porch, at the park, pretty much anywhere that you want to go so I’m this case it’s a win. All the little accessories that come in this package are great quality and have held up with no issues. Get the red, it is beautiful with that white pearl pick guard. Excellent for anyone starting out or anyone just itching to get a new guitar. One of the best starter kits I have ever seen. ... show more

After close review of the guitar it is vary much worth the price. The only bad thing i have for the guitar is the shipping is horrible, it took 17 days to get it from California to Texas way to long. Pros. Over all The guitar its self is very beautiful and plays amazing sounds. The amp that comes with it is very good . Cons. The neck of the guitar could use little more sanding to smooth out a few rough edges. After playing it i found that one of the frets needs a little bit of filling (its a hair to high and you get string buzz on it). ... show more

    • Nice beginner's setup

I wasn't expecting much for how much I paid for this guitar, but I didn't have many options to choose from, as I play left handed, and just learning to play right handed (as some left handed people do) isn't an option for me. Being a new player, I didn't want to invest a ton of money into something that I may or may not stick with. The sound is a lot better than I expected, and while I'm no expert, I'm pretty happy with the sound for a beginner, and it was definitely an easy way to get started with playing. I was able to set everything up and get playing right away. The amp and everything is small enough that I've had no problems bringing it with me when I need to, and in spite of the travel and everything it seems to stay pretty close to in tune. It's definitely a great set up for anyone just starting out and wanting an inexpensive set up to get them going. On a side note, six months later, the amp is starting to buzz when I turn up the gain. No idea what's wrong with it, but it wasn't an expensive amp to begin with, and I'd planned on replacing it eventually anyway. However the guitar still plays beautifully! ... show more

    • Perfect for what I wanted.
Excellent for beginner. Bought this because I was interested in learning and its inexpensive enough to not be a huge loss if I lost motivation. Paired with Rocksmith on PS4 it's been pretty enjoyable to learn. I also replaced the strings with heavier neon strings that match with the game to make it a little easier. I'm sure it doesn't sound nearly as good as more expensive guitars but I probably couldn't tell the difference without hearing them side by side anyhow. And since it is highly unlikely that I will ever take it anywhere I don't really care. And if by some miracle I felt i needed to upgrade I've seen that people installed actual Fender parts. ... show more

    • Worth the Price
All-in-all, this is absolutely worth thr money; the guitar itself should just be at least this price. A few minor gripes: 1). The amp is rather buzzy on overdrive channel 2). pick guard laminate is a pain to remove (tucked well under the neck and knobs) and couple very minor surface defects. 3). Neck dive; guitar is not terrifically balanced. These are not enough for me to rate lower than 5 stars because, again, for the price, this is an awesome set and the guitar itself does sound really good. I absolutely recommend this package to anybody either just looking to get into playing, or even intermediate. Again, the guitar itself is worth the price. The case and stand are nice, picks are good, strap is fine, cables are in good shape, just the amp is a bit buzzy in overdrive. ... show more
