  • As close to perfect as any road shoe I have owned
As someone who considers himself a little bit of a shoe nerd, I can say that the Triumph 20 is as well-designed as any pair of shoes that have ever been on my feet. I wanted these to be my higher mileage shoes for slower, longer days, but after a few runs I can say that this shoe makes me keep running faster. I have never had to consciously slow myself down to keep a certain intensity as I have with these shoes. I think it has something to do with the heel to toe drop combined with the rocker shape and toe roll off that really propels me forward. The fit of the upper is perfectly snug. I am one of those runners who cannot stand having my heel slip up and down while I run. I won’t be able to stop thinking about it. BUT I also hate it when shoes are tight and restrictive around my toes. I wear a size 10, but truth be told I could probably be a size 10.5. My history wearing climbing shoes and boots makes me prefer a shoe that doesn’t have too much extra length. In these size 10’s, my toes are pretty close to the end of the shoe, but the toe area of the shoe is perfectly shaped and sized so the upper does not restrict my toes at all. PERFECT. Not too baggy so my feet stay where they are, but just the right amount of extra room so my toes are not touching the upper. The heel area and mid foot of the upper are snug and comfortable, while the toe area feels barely there. FINALLY a shoe company got it right. Let’s talk about the heel on this shoe. It’s bouncy. I’ve had other shoes with heels that are bouncy in a weird and hard-to-get-used-to way, and some shoes with a soft and squishy heel that does the opposite of the Triumph and makes me constantly have to speed up. This heel gets it just right. It gives you definite noticeable energy return after it squishes, but it doesn’t feel unstable. The heel isn’t one of the modern high stack shoes that gets super wide on the sole, which I like. The platform of these shoes seems like a slimmer profile compared to some of the newer generation of big midsole shoes, and I think this contributes to it feeling like a faster shoe. I love it. A few times in one of my night runs I accidentally stepped on some rocks and a stump, and for being a somewhat tall midsole, the shoe rode over the obstacles very gracefully. Some other taller shoes will definitely give me that immediate ankle roll in these situations (ahem, Hoka, ahem, sorry needed to clear my throat there). The look of the shoe is really cool. I have the Night Light color scheme and the pictures don’t do it justice. In the light the red is a fluorescent red and the Saucony symbol is reflective. It looks way cooler in person than in the pictures. These are my new favorite shoes. I was skeptical at first because of how good of a deal the 20’s were going for and also the 10mm heel-to-toe drop. I’d be lying if I said I don’t notice the drop, but the weird thing is I didn’t think I like it as much as I do. With the geometry of the shoe, the drop feels propulsive. I also feel like the cushion and feel of the forefoot is plenty cushioned as well. Get this shoe. I can’t imagine many people disliking it. ... show more

  • Excellent Cushoning that lasts a long time
Size: 9.5 Color: Twilight/Black
This was my first max cushioned shoe. It was super comfortable and the regular width worked for my wide feet. It is highly durable and I ran over 700 miles in the shoes before the foam gave out with little wear on the upper. While not lightweight they provided excellent comfort and cushioning for long runs (10miles plus) and as a heavy runner helped keep my feet fresh during marathon training. While the shoes is ideal for slower runs I had no problem doing some strides on the shoes. I missed them when I had to retire the shoes. ... show more

  • Great cushioned shoe
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Black/White
Love my Saucony Triumphs. This is my fourth pair. An excellent choice for a wider foot and somebody needing cushioning for plantar Fasciitis.

  • Good shoe, but not sure it’s great
Size: 11 Color: Black/White
I’m a fan of the Triumph 19 so was excited for the redesign of the 20. So far so good, negatives are the strings are too short to use the runners loop. I have narrow feet and if using the last loop can’t even get one tie on the strings much less a double like I prefer. It’s funny because the Triumph 19s laces are far too long. Another negative as someone else stated they smell like chemicals really badly, at least the black color version. I’ve had them for a few weeks and they still smell. Like a spray paint and plastic that won’t go away. I assume it’s the dye. Last negative, I prefer the 8mm drop on the 19s over the 10mm drop on the 20s. Doesn’t feel as cushioned in the mid foot as the 19s and I think it’s because of the drop. Positives - light weight for a max cushion and the tread outsole is really grippy and seems durable. I only have about 15 miles on them so I’ll update if my opinion changes. ... show more

  • These Shoes Saved My Feet at Disney World
Size: 12 Color: Ocean/Redrock
I bought these running shoes based on a bunch of good reviews I read online. I actually got another pair of shoes too so I could compare them, and I ended up switching back and forth between the two while at Disney World. If you’ve ever been to Disney, you know you’re walking *a lot* every single day. At first, I thought I liked the other pair more, but these totally won me over. They’re super comfortable, and after a while, they became my go-to shoes. When I first put them on, I could totally feel how they kind of propel you forward—it was like having a spring in my step! I’m used to it now, but that feeling was really cool and made walking way easier. Between these and the other shoes, it was the first time in forever that my feet and legs weren’t killing me at the end of the day. I was shocked because I usually end up with sore feet after a long day of walking, but not this time. If you do a lot of walking or standing, I’d definitely recommend these. They’re comfy, supportive, and they really helped me survive Disney without the usual foot pain. ... show more
