  • Best fitting/feeling shoes 6 years and counting. TR12 100% comfortable day 1.
I've been wearing Saucony TR shoes daily for about 6 years. At this point I've owned at least one pair of TR7 through 12 except the TR11 (which I don't think looks too good). It started with seeing the black/orange TR7's in a store. They fit and felt great immediately and that is very rare for me. Also they looked really good for a running shoe. After that I was hooked and I now have a closet with extra TR8's 9's and 10's in it. IMO the best looking ones were the 7 and 8 and I hope they return to something similar and with the Orange/Black some day. One time I went out to quickly buy a pair of regular (not trail) running shoes so I wouldn't beat up my daily TR shoes. I purposely decided to just get another brand. I tried several on and they all felt very strange. Walking/Jogging around the store all of them were just off. I then grabbed a pair of Suacony running shoes (not sure what kind they were) and they instantly felt perfect and I picked those up. Cheaper than the other shoes I tried on too. It's rare I find shoes that feel good especially right away. A few weeks ago a pair of TR9's were wearing out so I pulled out another pair I had. They felt great at first but also needed the usual break in. A couple weeks later I decided to purchased a pair of TR12s on Amazon and put the TR9's back in the closet (for the future). I swapped over and the TR12s felt perfect immediately! This never happens with any shoe. I don't know what it is but they felt like they needed zero break in or adjustment even compared to the TR9's I had just put on. It couldn't have been better. Pros: Affordable. Comfortable. Universal (except on wet polished floors!). Very nice looking (for a running shoe). Newer versions last well. Cons : They can break down fast. Although I think the older ones were lower cost and broke faster. I think past the TR8 they seem to cost more and last much longer. It's hard to tell. But most of my break-down experiences were in the first couple years. In fact the very first pair I bought (like only 40 bucks!) my pinky toes blew out the sides! It was really bad and happened far too early (easily half the time the shoes should have lasted) but the shoes were so good/cheap I stuck with it and have not had it that bad ever since. Now usually the first thing to happen is the heel plastic breaks through and grinds on your heel and it takes a while for that to happen. Also careful on wet polished floors. They slip like crazy, as I assume other shoes like this do. Hard to buy older versions and some of them look better to me. I highly recommend trying Saucony TR line of shoes. ... show more

  • Solid, order 1/2 size up vs Skechers
Can’t attest to durability as just got them. But the construction is good, as is the feel. Mainly writing to confirm that you should order a half size up, at least vs. Skechers. Normally a 9.5 in the other S brand, ordered a 10 W. Perfect. Might not have needed the W if planning to use them as runners rather than every-day, multi-purpose; probably wider than would want for running purposes in a W. But for walking, light mixed exercise, comfort purposes, W probably better than not W for folks with borderline wide feet (as compared to Skechers that are generally built a little wider to start). ... show more

  • Comfortable but has hiking issues
I've owned these almost exactly a year ago and I'm getting ready to replace them. I use them for going tot he gym twice a week and I walk/hike at least two to three times a week. Pros * They fit my feet well and are comfortable to walk in for extended periouds. * The sole has been very durable, most shoes of this price or more expensive have already started showing significant wear by this time. * I like how they look either wearing shorts or jeans. Cons * The tread material and/or design is not very good on hard surfaces when the ground is wet. Even during a light rain shower, I find myself sliding and skidding on concrete, pavement or rocky paths. * The material behind the heel has become so ragged that the plastic support has started digging into the back of my ankle. ... show more

  • Great Saucony Shoe!
Size: 11.5 Color: Blue/Black
I'm not a runner, but I do appreciate Saucony's shoes for comfort. I like that these shoes can be used for hiking, in which I'll use if I'm out hiking specifically. I get Saucony shoes for my son who is in cross country and track in high school. After a little more than a season they're toast. But that's OK, because I don't expect shoes to last him 400+ miles; I believe he gets at least 300 miles off of them. For me, I'll get most likely 2-300 miles on them before I retire them, and it takes me a lot longer. But they are very supportive, and each shoe Saucony makes is for specific needs. In my case, I'll just use them for running up and down someone's driveway (delivering packages); my son, on the other hand will run 4-7 miles a day and they do wear out. It's expected to. I'm glad that the last shoes I got him, not these exactly were a real winner. If I see those shoes, I'll have him do a review. I hope that this helps. ... show more

  • Comfort on 4 mile walks
Always wore New Balance, last pair wore out fast. Decided to try something else. These Sauconys seem like a great choice, had them 6 weeks ,walk 4 miles, 5 times a week. Comfortable from day one. I am a 10 wide and these were a perfect fit.

  • Saucony Is The Best
I have been buying Saucony shoes for years. They are so light and comfortable that I hardly know that I am wearing them. I have infrequently strayed for a big name, expensive shoe only to be disappointed. I started buying Saucony shoes when I was running which I can no longer do (I do frequently walk long distances), however, I kept buying them for their comfort, fit and quality. This was my first pair of the Excursion TR12 model and I had no 2nd thoughts about putting them on and going for an 8 mile walk. These shoes are great as is the price. ... show more

  • Wide is a must with this brand for me
These feel fantastic right out of the box. With no other brands do I need the wide size. But very happy to have gone with wide this time.
