It looks like a maxi dress on me-I ordered the X Large (12-14 USA) so it must run large. (I am 5'1" at 138 lbs). I always order XL because of the weight I carry in my mid section, but since this dress really has no waist, your waist size won't matter. Would be cute with a wide belt. Well made, nice fabric. Suggest size down one size if you want it to hit at your knees or over, but don't trust anything you read online, lol! The dress itself is very cute; I also got one in Black that I am keeping, even though it is also a "maxi" on me. It will work with boots, and I need a new Black dress for this fall/winter season. Returning this rusty red colored one for a refund.

I am 5'4", 135 lbs. & very fit (70 YO). Typically wear a S or M depending on the cut. Loved the fabric & color of this dress, it felt wonderful. Unfortunately it did not fit me, as it was too form fitting to accommodate my small stomach pooch (it actually accentuated it, while other clothes make my abs look very flat). It is a great sweat suit fabric, very soft.

I love this dress! It is soft and comfortable (like a thin sweatshirt), hangs nicely, and I have already gotten compliments from every person who has seen me in it! I am 5’-7”, 155 lbs and very conscious of my stomach, so I bought a large and am glad I did because it fits nicely on top and glides over my stomach, as I hoped. My favorite part is the length: right at the knee for me! People are right that the fabric has a slight sheen, but I would not say shiny, and I don’t mind it at all. I am absolutely thinking of getting it in more colors! Love it!
