This booster seat works great for any salon chair. My sister is a stylist and she’s tall- 5’ 10” so she has to hunch over a lot when doing hair on normal adults, so something like this was a necessity for her child clients. It has worked great so far- it gives a good boost of at least 4-5 inches, it’s comfortable for the kiddos to sit on, and it’s a good value. I’d recommend this for any salon that takes small clients.

Our son-in-law is just getting his license to become a barber/hair dresser and we've built out a small one-chair shop in a spare building for him to use practicing on our extended family of heads, chief among them his four year old son who started cutting his own hair as soon as he figured out how to make scissors work and where mom and dad kept hiding them. Needless to say, some of his father's first cuts were in pursuit of trying to make his own son not look like some kind of crazed lunatic. And even though I found a nice salon chair for him on the cheap, it's really sized for adults, so even at its highest terminus, dad still has to bend and reach down the whole time he's trying to cut his son's hair. And then this appeared. Talk about serendipity. This is basically a block of high density upholstery cushion foam wrapped in a fake pleathery sort of fabric that I'm guessing is polyester at its core, but it feels nice to the touch and it looks a lot like the fake leather on the chair, so they work well together. There's also a flap of sorts that drapes down over the front of the gap between the cushion and the chair's own seat cushion, almost making this look as if it was made specifically for it, so it's a win on the aesthetic front for sure. The sewing quality and finish is all very nicely done, giving a look and feel of sturdy resolve that should hold up well for many hair cuts to come. Best of all, this can serve as a booster seat for little man at the big people table, and it's pretty light, so it travels well, which is very nice because that means it's easy to take along to our house, where we don't keep any special equipment for the height challenged . Given its design, function and appearance, for the offering price I consider this a reasonable value that should hold up well over time.

I purchased the Salon Booster Seat for Kids Hair Cutting (18” x 13” x 6.7”) and it has worked really well for my setup. The cushion is firm but still comfortable, and it helps position kids at the right height in the chair, which makes haircuts much easier and more efficient. The leather material looks professional and is easy to wipe clean between uses, which is very important in a salon setting. It feels durable and well made, not cheap or flimsy like some other booster seats. It fits securely in the chair and doesn’t slide around once placed, which helps kids feel more stable while sitting. The size is also good — not too bulky, but still gives enough lift to make styling and cutting easier. It could also work well as a kids booster seat for home use, especially at the kitchen table or dining area when they need a little extra height. Overall, this is a simple but very useful salon tool. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, looks professional, and makes haircutting kids much more comfortable for both the stylist and the child.

This booster seat is very well designed, especially for use in salons or barber shops - or at the grandparents at the kitchen table. It is covered with a faux leather that makes it easy to clean - just wipe it off! The front flap that hangs down is really the extra piece that puts this one above others. It protects from dirty shoes and the inevitable wear and tear that come from little feet that kick and swing against the chair. The seat is definitely wide enough to accomodate any child that would need the added height. However, it is not very deep - which is not a concern for small children, but when they are squirming they could slide off the back of it. This is not usually an issue in a salon chair that has a back, but if you are using it in a hard kitchen chair or some other type of seat, be aware of this for safety's sake. The cover has a zipper so you can remove it if you need to, but since the material can be wiped off you shouldn't need to ever take it off to wash it. The cushion is memory foam so it all comes compressed down and you need to wait 48-72 hours for it to fully inflate. The memory foam does compress after prolonged use, which is usually not a big deal since most kids are not going to sit on it long enough for this to happen! But this is great for the dinner table as well as the salon. It also has a handle on one side to carry it from place to place. It is compact and easy to store. It seems to be a good value for this type of cushion with the cover and extra protective flap. I took pictures on a standard office chair for reference.

As a professional cosmetologist for over 10 years, I’ve dealt with a lot of various booster seats/cushions and other ways to prop up children in a salon/barber chair. I’m happy to say, this is an excellent product and value! After the initial 48 hour expansion period, you start to see how truly comfortable, tall, and sturdy it looks. And, it doesn’t just look that way it actually is comfortable and sturdy! It’s also super lightweight, which makes it easy to tote around, esp. if you’re like me and don’t have your own business anymore but still do hair on the side for your friends and family. Plus, portability in general is an important feature to all cosmetologists regardless. You don’t even need to be a professional cosmetologist to benefit from this booster seat. I also use it for my two year-old daughter’s chair at the table so that she can be at the same height as her older sister and make less of a mess. It’s smooth and easy to wipe down quickly. Both her and her eight year-old sister say it’s the most comfortable booster ever, lol! Its height after the initial inflation period is also impressive. That period of time (which the pamphlet states as 24 hours to 48 hours) in which you open the package and let it expand to full potential before you can sit on it or apply pressure, is the only potential issue I could come up with honestly! I would just say as a cautionary word, if you need a booster seat like this ASAP, don’t plan on being able to use it for a day or two after it arrives. (Technically though, you could use it right away because it’s still a decent height before full inflation, but you’d be compromising its full potential.) Anyway, this is an awesome, high quality, durable, smooth, and comfortable booster seat with the sleek look of a traditional salon/barber seat. If you’re in search of one, you can’t go wrong with this brand!

The height is too short. Even after leaving for more than a week, the inflation isn't much. I used it for my smallest client and he still had to sit in his knees. Got my floor and his clothes wet because he still couldn't reach the salon sink.
