  • Great game for $10
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Day 1 Edition
Got it for $10, the day one edition too, totally worth the price. Although the reviews were right, game is still a buggy mess and it’s a joke compared to other saint rows games, including 4 - which was literally designed to be a joke. But for $10, had a few hours of fun, 6/10

  • Initially Meh, Now Having a Blast!
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Day 1 Edition
Initially I was not impressed but now I'm having a blast with this game. I'm a casual gamer and I mostly play games like this for the atmosphere and exploration so it was appropriate that I chose the "tourist" difficulty in the game options (a big change from Elden Ring!). I also set the display options to "high detail 1440p" which seems to be the best setting. I'm not a frame rate snob but setting the display to 4k was too much of a drop - I didn't take any stars away for this since I'm easy and 1440p looks great in my opinion. I have only played very little of the game and I have not run across any bugs yet - it looks it like a fun place to explore. Customization is through the roof, and as I play more of the game, I will update my review as needed UPDATE 1: Screenshots are in 1440p "high quality". Today I had a chance to play a bit more and am actually having fun exploring the map. At first, it seems extremely boring but as you progress and discover different things/places, more becomes available. Cars are very cool and am looking forward to playing more of the storyline (only did a few quests) and unlocking more features this evening - customizing cars will be a blast! UPDATE 2: After giving the game a few more hours, it definitely grew on me even more. The main story line has definitely gotten more flesh on it and as I expected z car customization is a blast. You can make any car look like 3 or 4 different ones, so instead of having 80 cars, it's like having 240-320 cars! I am also VERY impressed how well this game is considering the amount of development time. NOTE: if people don't understand that bugs are inevitable for a new launch, then they don't understand game development and aren't true gamers. The larger and more ambitious the project, the more bugs they will have to work out. ... show more

  • Buy it and play for yourself
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Day 1 Edition
I am a lifelong gamer, I adore games ranging from fighters, platformers, hack and slash, fps, and sandox open world games. I love red Dead Redemption and I enjoy saints row, I appreciate games as individuals. Saints row reboot is a very fun game, I loved the character creation and the graphics are cute, saints row has always had stylized graphics and 3 and 4s were not good so this one (5) finally has graphics worth looking at. I admit it definitely feels very familiar to watch dogs which is another series I love, but that gave this game the edge it needed. I adore it, I always liked saints row 3 over 4 because 4 was way too silly and immature (not funny either) and I couldn't get past it. As for 5 the reboot I enjoy the toned down but still silly environment. I have not finished it yet but so far its really good people wanted this game to fail, I am playing it on Xbox series X so I luckily (knock on wood) haven't had any glitches. It's fun and that's all I ask for right now ... show more

  • Best Saints game, to me.
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Day 1 Edition
I had this on PC already so I grabbed it on the XSX because I wanted to see how it compared. The game gets a lot of flack from people for a buggy launch, but frankly that seems to be the norm these days, so it didnt bug me much. Character creator is awesome, driving is great, and the setting is a perfect balance of desert/town/city. Story is fun but your mileage there may vary depending on what you like in a gang story. Hoping there's dlc coming, as I've gone through it a couple times now. ... show more

  • Worse than I could have imagined
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Day 1 Edition
Long time fan of the series and I’ve been longing to play a drive and shoot open sandbox game to zone out and relax for some time now. I read the reviews, all the caveats. But nothing prepared me for how bad this game is. We are talking Xbox 360 era game design and graphics, the worst writing out of any Saints Row game, and inexplicably bland characters and gun play. I fiddled with all the graphics settings and aiming still felt like pulling teeth. This is such a let down. I also want to make clear that I’m fine that they aimed this at a new generation and allegedly went “woke.” That’s practically made for me, and yet this game is just unacceptable. ... show more

  • OG fan
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Day 1 Edition
I've been a fan since the first one and have always loved and enjoyed these games. Yes, I love all of them! I did finish this game and I did, for the most part, have fun playing it. I will say the game did feel extremely rushed and I feel they were trying way too hard to make everyone happy. Had they took their time on developing the story and just did what they wanted this game would have been a lot better. I am still a fan and I'm hoping they will do better the next time around. VIVA LA JOHNNY GAT! ... show more
