It seems to be a heavy, well build welders guard work boot. I had to return bc it was to tight of a fit around my toes. Which i usually have an issue with a lot of boots. I would suggest that buyers get a size above what they normally wear. I usually wear a 12US. I ordered the 13US and it was a good fit for the length. Bang for your buck, this shoe has everything a good pair should have, comfort, weight, size is just spot on. First time buying a pair made for welding cause I've been burning holes into my carhart, these lace covers do the job of keeping the molten metal out, would highly recommend. I usually buy a 9-1/2" but it wasn't included in the size chart so 10" works just as good. ... show more

My son started welding school and had lace up shoes and some hot metal went right through the shoe onto his foot and burned him. We purchased these boots for him and they have the welding guard across the top so that nothing can get into his foot. Because he’s learning he’s dropping metal that is very hot onto his feet and these boots have saved him! They still look like brand new. This is a great investment.
