Pushing 45, struggling with bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis and whatever other fresh heck my body decides to flash the check engine light for, I have been on the hunt for comfortable walking shoes that don't look like hideous old lady sneakers. You know ..the "I can spot an American tourist with their knee replacement scars and cargo shorts (or capris) from a mile away" kind. I have ordered, tried on and returned about seven pairs of shoes in the past month - and yes all of the big brands who tout arch support, motion control for overpronators, pain relief for ball-of-foot or metatarsal arthritis and hammer toes, wide toe boxes so the toesies can spread out like talons getting ready to snatch my dinner from the lake, etc. etc. I have ones that rhyme with "New Talents" , "Mikey" , and "Small Curds" ...and thought I had found the holy grail with the ones that rhyme with "Mocha". But holy mother of murgatroid and sweet 7 lb 8 oz Jezuss!!!! These have it all girls! I'm usually a size 8 M in other brands, but Rykas run a teensy bit big on me so I got a 7.5 wide (lace up is a must otherwise they're too wide for those of you who prefer slip-ons) and my feet are supported but comfortable, and my gait isn't overly weird or 'corrected' (which can cause foot, knee and back pain). And furthermore, they look cute! Apparently I'm a Ryka girl! Ordering more of the devotion max line shoes in more colors. The search is over…..until I hit 50 🙏 ... show more

Love these Rykas and seriously considering another pair. Very supportive for all day walking. Lots of cushion with the platform sole. Solid arch support. Took them all over Manhattan walking 5-8 miles a day and they performed; no sore feet or legs, no break in. The only negative for me is the suede which is probably not washable so these will have to be spot cleaned. Also can't attest to durability since I've had them less than 6 months. But I wear these for travel with extensive walking, not my everyday workout sneakers. Ryka is about the only athletic shoe I buy now. ... show more

They’re comfortable. But no where near the comfort and quality of a Hoka. Also, the shoe laces are way too short. I don’t have a wide foot and can barely make a bow with these laces. If you can get them for $69, try them. For $119, they’re not worth it.

So cute and Ryka are the best fit because I have narrow ankles and they are always narrow in the heel and wide in the footbed.

    • Comfortable for a wide foot

Ryka is my new favorite shoe. I have a wide foot and it is so hard to find footwear that is comfortable. The shoe looks nice too . . . Not like an old lady shoe. My only complaint about this particular model is the big RYKA on the side. There is no arch support so you will need an insert.

This is my 3rd pair of Ryka walking shoes (I also wear them to play tennis). I have liked every pair, but this pair is my favorite! They don't need to be broken in, very comfortable and have great support and padding! I will continue to buy this brand of shoes!
