    • Rybozen Support: they where there when needed
Purchased the 2-to-1 HDMI KVM for a work experiment, and after two days the unit became stuck between 1280x720 and 800x600 resolutions. I swapped monitors, cables, did everything. My efforts were unable in normalizing the KVM. I wrote to Rybozen Support, and before my workday ended, I received a response from Rybozen. Days later I received an email generated by one of their technical personnel suggesting a few things to try, however, the KVM was unable to pass through the additional display resolutions. At a point, I decided to send the inoperative KVM back to Amazon and replace it with the same model 2-to-1 KVM. The replacement KVM works FANTASTIC attached to one workstation with 96 GB of RAM and the other with 16 GB of RAM; both workstations are running Windows 10 64-Bit and each includes NVIDIA video cards with 2 GB of RAM installed. The Rybozen 2-to1 is a robust, easy to install and to operate. The only thing I suggested, as a future enhancement, is to add a display showing resolution and frame rate for each incoming channel; such enhancement will help both users and Rybozen Support in eliminating trouble shooting steps - as a former test engineer I want to know what type of signals are coming IN and going OUT. Thank you. P.S. Rybozen gladly offered to exchange the KVM, however, do to time restrictions I took action of returning the questionable KVM to Amazon. In addition, forgot to mention the Rybozen KVM responded to mixed mode display settings without a problem. ... show more

    • Good KVM, but USB is a bit glitchy when used with pro audio interface
This KVM seemed to work pretty well for passing HDMI and Keyboard/Mouse and webcam. I didn't see any issues until I tried using my Focusrite Scarlett audio interface through the USB hub. When playing videos the audio interface would have random popping noises and glitches that it does not have when plugged in directly. I have gone back to plugging in the audio interface directly, but it would be nice to be able to use it through the KVM. ... show more

    • Good, With Caveats
For the most part, this KVM switch does exactly what I wanted it to. I push a button to switch a monitor and some USB devices from one computer to another. That's it - no fuss, no frills, no hotkeys or dedicated keyboard/mouse slots, all in a compact and durable metal box for under $25. There are, however, a couple minor issues to be aware of if you're considering this product. First, the included HDMI cables are much lower-quality than the device itself. When I first hooked it up, one of the monitors didn't work unless I pushed on the cable. I replaced both cables with a pair from the Box O' Spare Cables I've accumulated over the years, and the problem went away. Second, this KVM switch doesn't have an external power supply, which may prevent certain peripherals from functioning. My fancy RGB backlit keyboard and mouse work fine, but when I plugged in a pair of USB speakers, the only sound I got out of them was a feeble click. I was able to solve this problem by connecting the speakers to a powered USB hub connected to the KVM switch (connected to a laptop dock, connected to a laptop, connected to the shin bone, connected to the leg bone...). I now have quite the pile of desk spaghetti, but I don't have a unplug and replug a bunch of stuff to switch between my work and personal computer. Edit: I've noticed that Windows sometimes stops recognizing my USB keyboard when I switch between computers. I have to unplug the keyboard and plug it back in for it to start working again. I've gotten the error on both computers, so I think the issue is with the KVM switch. Changing my rating from 4 stars to 3. Edit 2: This is very strange. I discovered I can solve the keyboard disconnect issue by plugging the keyboard and mouse directly into the KVM instead of into the powered USB hub I mentioned above... but when I do that, my speakers randomly stop working. ... show more

    • Good value, just works
The product functions just as it is designed for - KVM switch with USB ports. No additional power supply is not required which is a good thing however it always comes up default to PC1 side even when PC connected to PC1 does not provide power to the unit (happens to be powered off) while only PC connected to the PC2 is active. This isn't a big issue in normal condition but it would be nice to switch to the side that provides power. You have to manually press the button to switch ports. Metal casing makes it feel solid. The product is not big however with all supplied cables hooked up at the back it will not stay flat on the desk especially if you place it near the back of your desk. It probably needs to have weight placed on top. Placing it further away from the back might help but that would likely where it should be placed generally. ... show more

Make sure to buy some decent cables along with this. The cables that come with it are hot garbage. Display kept disconnecting until I switched out the HDMI cables. USB cables have the same issue with intermittent disconnects.
