Picked this up as a base layer and it performs exactly how you’d want. Material is lightweight but still provides noticeable warmth without overheating. It has a good amount of stretch, so it moves well and doesn’t restrict activity. Fit is true to size with a snug compression feel, but not overly tight. Sleeves stay in place and it layers easily under a jersey. After multiple washes, it’s held its shape with no pilling or thinning. Good option for practices, games, or just cooler days outside.

Nicely Made, Consider Sizing Up

I ordered the navy blue color in size large for my 11 and 1/2-year-old tall son. My son is only 94 lb but 5'4, so he has a very lean build. Despite that, it was much smaller on him than I expected. Following the size chart, I thought the size large would be a little bit on the big side, which is what I wanted since my son isn't wild about tight clothing. The arm length was a bit short, to the point where when he bent his elbow the shirt rose to the middle of his forearm. This is partly because it's a stretchy material that's supposed to be more of a compression fit. I like the color (accurate to what's shown on the product listing) and it's very soft inside. Not very thick but with a brushed, somewhat micro fleecy interior. It seems to be well made and was a great price. I returned the size large and ordered the size extra large. My son has had one of these shirts from another brand in the past and felt like it kept him really warm, even in damp outdoor conditions. If your child has a more willowy build and longer arms, I would consider sizing up one size. If your child is a little bit huskier, I would consider sizing up AT LEAST one size, unless they really enjoy the compressive feeling. I know a lot of people will wear these under sports jerseys so compression is a nice thing sometimes. One other thing I'd like to mention: it's a very straight up and down fit, so if your child has a more defined waistline and the fit is a little snug, it will ride up to their natural waist. My son, who has a straighter boy build still was encountering that a little bit. Sizing up should fix that issue.
