The sleeves cover the shoulders and my pointy elbows, but are open for full range of motion. I can honestly say I would recommend this dress for any age woman. It feels good, fairly lightweight, it isn't see-through, It allows me to move freely. It hangs nicely and clings just the right amount. If you have a perfect hourglass figure, you could wear a belt to show it off. I don't cinch at the waist, so I won't. The dress has plenty of bust and bum room and breathes well enough for dancing. It's not quite long enough I'd use it as a dress, but I knew buying it I intended to use as a shirt. First thing that surprised me is how comfortable it is, especially for the price. I first pulled it out of the package and, feeling the fabric, said, "You're kidding me." It was so soft. This isn't exactly a dress/shirt I'd wear on a regular basis--it's definitely in the category of fine--but I COULD if I needed to. The fabric is quite stretchy, which adds to the comfort of its fit. Love this dress. I needed purple for an event. Paired it with yellow shoes. I’m 5’5”, weigh 143, and I’m not curvy - more straight as in my waist is only 7” smaller than my hips - so this style works well for me. 38-32-39 and purchased a Medium. I like that the dress is made of soft stretchy fabric, kind of like a T-shirt but thicker and heavier. The sleeves are beautiful and give it a dressier look and most importantly - hide my aging arms. This is a beautiful dress. I love the material & it drapes so nicely on the body. I ordered a Large & I'm 5'0" & weigh about 129 pounds. The dress hits right at my knees. I think I could have ordered a Medium but I like the way it fits & I ordered a pretty belt to make it more fitted. I plan to wear this formal dress to my grandson's wedding. Thinking the sizing would be the same, I ordered the same size in green for a Holiday party and it was WAY too small. Very cute dress. Beautiful color (violet). The body of the dress is a solid poly looking fabric with a liner (cotton?) underneath. The sleeves are sheer and fluttery. It would be fine to attend a wedding, but isn't super dressy. It does run small.
