I wasn't expecting much. For the size, the price was fairly low. However, I didn't expect this. The first thing we noticed is the off-gassing. As mentioned in other reviews it comes vacuum sealed in a tiny box. As soon as the package was opened, our whole house smelled like cheap plastic. Then I removed it from the bag. It's paper thin. Not thick and luxurious as described. I figured a trip through the dryer might help fluff it up. It did not. But that did help significantly with the smell. So, after a trip through the dryer I laid it out on the floor. Walking on it is like walking on a skating rink right after a Zamboni pass, only less fluffy. This whole experience reminds me of ordering x-ray glasses from the back of a comic book when I was a kid. I did NOT get what I thought I ordered. I purchased this rug to be used in front of a backdrop for a special event. It arrived vacuum packed so I spread it out to remove all of the creases. I was disappointed in how thin and flimsy it was and when I walked across it, it was extremely slippery. I realized that I couldn’t use this item because someone could slip and fall. It’s shiny like plastic. I just wanted an actual area rug, with a solid backing. This looks like an art project. I was so excited about ordering this, until it arrived. Bought this for the kids playroom. It’s thin, like a blanket and you can see the backing through the fibers. The material is very slippery. The non-slide backing works, the kids slipped on it and the rug didn’t move but it’s not practical if it doesn’t offer any cushion and the kids will fall walking in it.
