Description

Looking for a handy place to mount your accessory switches that doesn't require cutting or other modifications? The Rugged Ridge A-Pillar Switch Pod has premolded cutouts to allow you to mount up to four aftermarket switches in easy reach on the driver's side A-pillar, and out of the way of the shifter handle. Our Pillar Pod has the textured molded finish just like the factory plastic pillar cover it replaces. It snaps into place just like the OE!

  • Nice addition to my jeep
I started out with the lower dash switch pod, but found out the Manual shifter would turn off the two right buttons when i was in third. Now if i put my lockers on those two buttons, how often would i be in third gear while wheeling? Hummm...I don't know, but I didn't like how it fit. So i got the A-pillar switch pod. Beautiful construction. Fits nicely, and the color is pretty darn close. Looks good. And the cut outs are fairly easy to remove. Just be careful, and use a utility knife, not a Dremell tool, unless you have super steady hands. ... show more

  • The finish is really good and matches
The finish is really good and matches. The fit is a little weird and off, but good none the less.

  • Pretty darned nice A post pod
Nice addition and great place to set up all my switches. Im kind of disappointed that it does not fit exactly as it should but its not so bad that it cant be used. Its a bit wider than it should be. Its held in place with a snap in clip that you remove from the existing pillar cover and 1 screw that you removed and a piece of pre-applied tape that wont touch anything because of the mold being slightly wider than it needed to be, so its pretty useless. You can press it in to make contact but with in a few minutes, mine popped right back off. It does not rattle or move what so ever so it fits well but is just molded a bit too wide where it goes over the A pillar. It obstructs the side of the speaker on top of the dash which is where I used to set my sunglasses so they dont slide all over the dash. The plastic is easily scratched so be very careful in removing the blanks for switches. They are pretty hard to cut out with out cutting off any thing you need to keep attached to your hand. You cant really get in from the back to cut them out. I used a razor knife / box cutter, went slowly and still managed to get a nice deep scratch in the third slot down. ... show more

  • It doesn't fit newer jeep
After I read the product reviews and many 1 star review are correct. I don't think this product is made for newer Jeep. it probably fit the jeep that they create the mold for.I installed on 2015 Rubicon and it looks like Cr@p. the piece is not black, had to paint it black. There is a big open gap at the bottom of the pillar. Cutting and modification had to be done in order to fit correctly. Would like a refund but I already painted the pillar black. ... show more

  • Seems like it would fit
Pros: Hard to say - I didn't install it. Seems like it would fit, but I can't really confirm. Packing was fine - not extraordinary or anything, but sufficient. It comes with instructions. Cons: It doesn't match the vehicle interior. Not even close. Mid gray is not black. It would look just as out of place if it was hot pink or yellow. Also, as others have posted, the switch panels don't pop out - they're molded in. You have to cut them out. I don't think that's a big deal, personally. But, for convenience sake for the end user, pop-out panels would be better - especially if you ever decided to remove a switch at some point down the road. Bottom line: Well, if you don't care about how it looks, then I suppose it's fine. But I like the mods I make to my rig to look as "factory" as possible. Add-ons and upgrades don't have to look like afterthoughts or hack jobs. ... show more

  • Requires cutting.
Requires cutting. 'No cutting or other modification' in the description is wholly inaccurate. Not only does it require cutting, be careful as the impressions that are guides are not very deep thus you have to do some serious cutting; it would not take much to make a mess of you new toy. Another note on the impressions, they are too small. Over all fit is ok. Although it uses the clips from the factory unit to snap into the windshield pillar, it fits loosely to some extent. It looks and feels mostly solid, but not as good as the factory unit. Color and texture are ok. The texture is dead on with the factory plastic pieces. the color is close but definitely not the same. A general glance and you might not notice it, but I would say probably 50% not looking will notice the difference. I would recommend it as it gives you enough room to properly wire up 4 switches in the pilar area along the windshield. Just keep in mind what you are getting. If you want an exact match and you want exact fit, you might have a body shop paint it and custom fit it. For me, it works well. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good ...
Fit and finish with this pillar system . Mounted easily and fits very nicely and the texture and color are nearly identical to factory . The only thing remotely negative i can say is the actual switch locations were tougher to cut out than need be , it actually took a more than fair amount of effort and such to remove them . This isn't really a bad thing honestly but be aware . Any ways buy with confidence because this thing is just awesome ! ... show more

  • Easy Installation and Looks great
Installation was quick and easy and it looks awesome! Is the color a 100% match? Probably not, but so close you really cant tell. Also, I dont know who the first reviewer was that recommended heating the utility knife when cutting out the holes for the switches, but that worked great! Used a blow torch to heat the tip of my knife and was able to cut them out with no problems. Just take your time! I heard another tip on my jeep forum say to heat the back of the pillar with a hair dryer makes it easier to cut as well! Overall, an awesome product and am 100% satisfied. ... show more
