SORRY EXCUSE FOR A COSTUME! I'm appalled by what just arrived at my door! It doesn't just "shed", it arrived with half the fur missing completely and then a huge amount was there but not ATTACHED to the costume! It's way thinner than it appeared so it's not warm like I had hoped. If I let my child take 10 steps on a sidewalk wearing this holes will rip through the feet. It's NOT the same color & the fur is wayyy shorter. I haven't even put it on my son yet and I'm already wanting to send it back. The mouse "rattle" is a squeaky toy. This is a prime example of FALSE ADVERTISING! They must have made 1 good quality costume for a photo then made the rest completely different. The felt on the "ears" look like a 5 year old cut them and omg don't even get me started on the tail! It has 1 thin piece of fur sticking off of it and its just so cheaply made. I'd bet it didn't even cost $2 for the material to create this. I can't believe this costume is being sold elsewhere for $30-$50!! I have a costume contest for my son in 2 days so now I wont get a replacement in time. (by replacement I mean different brand!!) ... show more

I absolutely love the Lion Cub costume! My 1 year old son looks cute as a button! I absolutely love the quality of the product and the fabric it's made out of, I love the fact that it's easy to get on and off and love that I know for a fact my little man will stay warm! My only wish is that the mane and tail were a little fluffier/ was easier to fluff out the packaging pressed the hair down and knotted it up a little and is hard to spread the strands apart. Otherwise I'm absolutely in love with this product. Maybe shipping it in a box and not a plastic bag would help with the mane and tail from being pressed so much. I will be using this companies products again in the future if anything is in my monster sized munchkins size 😂💙👶💙😂 ... show more

I read through the reviews before purchasing so I ordered a larger size and I understood that the costume sheds (It is faux fur folks!) and that I would need to comb/fluff the mane to make it look good. For the price, all of those things were fine by me. The body of the costume fit a bit roomy and the head piece was pretty snug but stayed on and was not uncomfortable. I used a wide tooth comb to VERY lightly brush out the mane and make it stick out how I wanted it to. When I was happy with it I sprayed it with hairspray and it stayed perfectly. Problem #1 - Looks nothing like the picture! The materials are completely different - to the point of false advertising - and the cheap materials are thrown together poorly - I can't give it more than 3 stars. For $20, I don't expect perfection but I also don't think the correct materials are too much to ask for. The most disappointing switch is the short beige stomach and feet fur to a thin felt like fabric. It sneakily cheapens the whole look and feel. The long fur was very was matted, much shorter than shown and sewn into the seams everywhere. One of the shoulders was sewn incorrectly, leaving a hole near the arm as well. That being said, I read the reviews and didn't expect much. I'm planning on turning this into an Ewok costume. It's just a base, for us. Problem #2 - The fit is weird. I ordered the 12-18m size for my son, who will turn 1 on Oct 23rd. It runs small everywhere but the leg length, which is true to the 18m size. He's 28" tall and 19 lbs at 10 months old. I tried the costume on him today. It fits perfectly in the midsection and arms, the hat barely fits around his face, and the legs are way too long. Not sure how it's going to work out in a couple months! I'll probably have to alter it a little (mostly worried about the hat). On the plus side, if you're willing to put in a little work, the costume is cute! I fixed the shoulder, carefully brushed the fur, pulled it out of all the seams and stuffed the ears to make them more prominent and stay in an upright position. Easy fixes with a big payoff! UPDATE - Nov. 5, 2015: We did 4 Halloween events in costume. After the 2nd event, I realized I would have to sew up the opening at the legs. It wouldn't stay closed because the midsection as too short (12-18m size on a just turned 1 year old). That's a fairly big alteration! It gave a few additional inches and fit like a glove after that though. A rip had started on the back seam after the 3rd event (Halloween Walk); fixed that... The 4th event (Trick or Treating) had no issues! It was a cold night this year but my son was toasty warm in his pj's and shoes under this costume. We received a lot of complements! I'd still say that you have to be willing to spruce up the costume (stuff the ears!), if you want it to look good. It's good for a night or two but watch for tears and fix them before they get bad if you want to get more use. ... show more

I was debating on purchasing this based on reviews. I bought it and it was very weird looking at first. Then I did what a reviewer recommended, comb hair through with large thick spread out comb. That did the trick. I also sewed inside soft material to make it a comfortable fit for my baby. Otherwise it will be very itchy and irritating on their soft skin. The hair does shed but you will need to monitor baby to ensure they are not eating the hair accidentally. My baby is 11 months on the 75% percentile usually wearing 12-18 month closed. Highly upset with this costume so I will be returning. My daughter is very big for 18 months so I honestly though this costume would be too small but it turns out it was entirely too big. I had to drive all over our time to find her a new costume at last minute. The headpiece is too small and looks nothing like the picture. The mane also looks nothing like the picture! Before my daughter even put it in, it looked like it had already been worn and the ‘fur’ was already shedding big time. I usually don’t go by what reviews say because I’m a lenient person but I should’ve followed the reviews on this one. I will be returning ASAP! ... show more
