This is a leotard with thin white styrofoam pieces attached, a two-piece helmet that uses velcro to put together and a belt. The back side is black. It was comfortable to wear. I am 5'6 and 125 lbs. The medium was stretchy and would work for someone taller and heavier. I have read that folks wear this to cons and such... I definitely think younger folks could do this. I *almost* didn't buy this costume b/c of the slew of negative reviews but heck it was Halloween under $40 and this mom needed some bad ass attire. I purchased the officially Disney licensed version for my 3 year old - fancy and well made- George Lucas himself may have signed it. I got the cheap knock off version featured here for me- and I have to tell you it kicked Halloween's ass during the 2.5 times I wore it last week. As other reviewers mentioned it's no heirloom costume- it's lycra and foam- but it was legit. I wore black yoga pants and a tank underneath and was totally comfortable both indoors and out (low 50's). As Rubie shows in her ad here- you can sex this thing up and be a hussy storm trooper with the go-go boots, or tone it down and go all out mom in tennis shoes and both work. One note- my son and I switched masks. He preferred the helmet that comes with the costume sold here and is wearing it in photo, and I wore his Disney mask.

The 3 stars is for the second order I placed for this costume. The first one I received was dirty, had a hole in it, and it just looked used. There was no way I was going to wear that in public. I've never written a review before but I had to just because I had already read something similar in the reviews and I was soo dissapointed when the same thing happened to me. I was hesitant to order the same costume in a different size (the first one was a little tight and uncomfortable to move in) but my nephew is so excited for us to match this upcoming weekend so I took a chance. I just received the second order and it was so much better; I could tell the different just from the packaging. This one was better in every way and actually looks new. It's obviously not the best material but it's not bad for the price (I paid $40). The mask is alright and overall the costume is pretty nice. People please don't buy things, wear it out, and then return it. It's disgusting and just wrong. But this seller shouldn't be selling this to people either. If you accept returns, that's awesome, but don't send something so disgusting like the first package I received. P.S. The bad costume looks much better in the pictures than it does in person.

Though this was rated overall at a 3, and I readthrough nightmare reviews about the costume, I decided to give it the benefit of a doubt. I have a children's Darth Vader costume, and couldn't NOT have a Stormtrooper costume, could I?? Plus I heard the return policy is stellar, so what did I really have to lose? So first thing I opened was the helmet (stupid blister packaging, such a hazard!). Verdict? Yes, it's stupidly cheap, like everyone said, and since I knew about this, my eye was just on the suit itself. And I wasn't going to wear the helmet anyway, and I have a legit Clone trooper mask if I did want to put something on my face. The body suit was great! Being only 5'2", the arms and legs were just a skoch too long for me, but it's spandex so you can kinda roll and tuck things into place. My body type is average, I'm a size 4, with a small chest. I think people who were concerned about transparency may have been curvier (power to yallz!), because I have big calves and thunder thighs (yet had no problem putting on the suit), they do make those areas slightly more transparent because of the stress on the spandex. But it doesn't really show too much in the back. If you're very conservative, wear a tank and hot pants underneath, no biggie. Overall, very excited to wear this!

I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone particularly curvy or with extreme measurements. I ordered a Large, following the given size measurements provided. I'm an extra small in chest, but an extra large for my butt, so I didn't really know what size to order. I ended up getting a large for fear of getting a suit that was too large for the rest of my body, but too small for my butt. Sadly, my butt was still too big for the suit and it fit really tight there, but really loosely above the area (near my tailbone). The fit was as expected, so I wasn't disappointed. At least until I saw the quality. The sleeves weren't sewn properly (imagine cutting two pieces of paper together and taping them back together, but the left side is higher than the right side. That's how it was sewn together), and since the suit is made of a foam-like material, when I took it out of the package, it was deformed somewhat due to it being packaged in a way where the suit had to be folded. I never took the head piece out its plastic because I knew as soon as I tried on the suit I'd be returning it. Other than this, I think the quality is as expected.

This costume is very comfortable. The black material is stretchy and breathable. However, it will be tough for anyone with long hair to wear the helmet and will require extra assistance to put it on since both parts of the helmet are secured by Velcro tabs. I put my hair up as best as I could, and even then, it felt like my face was getting crammed inside. Another problem I detected is that I found a small hole in the bodysuit; luckily, this will be easy to fix. It rides up in the neck a little when you sit down, so you may find yourself having to stand up to readjust it from time to time, especially if you don't care for turtlenecks. Otherwise, you won't feel it at all when standing or walking. Be prepared to get lots of compliments while wearing it. My only suggestions are to check to make sure it has no damage and upgrade the helmet.
