Good quality, will stand up to repeated use. This was my wife's costume (wish there was a different color tutu so we could match). She's 5' 4", said it was comfortable, but did get hot in the sun (understandable). Batteries (4xAA) lasted 2+ hours without showing signs of quitting. Does have visibility issues (mesh panels in eye and chin areas) so I had to lead her by the hand sometimes, which in itself was quite endearing. It’s as fun as it looks! Others mentioned the tutu not being full enough-I had no issues with mine. Was a big hit at our office costume party. I plan on wearing it for my grand daughter’s 1st birthday as well! Super easy to use even on your own!

Loved the costume. Skirt was full, product was great for the occasion. However, it was about 38 outside and about 75 inside the costume. There was a lot of condensation. The screen fogged up and I had to led aroynd because I couldnt see. I still had fun and the kids all wanted hi-fives from the dancing hippo. I will wear it again. ... show more

I bought this to meet my granddaughter getting off the bus on her last day of school. T-Rex and a unicorn were also present. There was a busload of screaming kids. They loved it. The suit is plenty roomy for any size person. I'm 5'8" and not slim, there was lots more room for height and width. It blew up quickly and stayed blown up. It's not really designed for long term wear. Maybe outside if it was cold. You are basically walking around in a balloon, breathing the same air. However it was a fun costume. ... show more

I had a GREAT time in this costume. While I wasn't allowed to wear it WHILE working, I went to work early and had some fun with shoppers and coworkers for a bit. Got a LOT of laughs and interactions with people. I also wore it whole handing out candy and found that not all little little kids enjoyed it as much as I did haha. Now the more important details... I didn't understand the straps... Two in the front, two in the back, with velcro on them, on the inside. I had no idea how they were supposed to be used so I just tried to figure something out. Some instructions would have been great, but there was nothing in the package to explain. Getting it to sit just right I'm sure varies by your size and probably proper use of the aforementioned straps. I feel like because of the lack of instructions and the somewhat awkwardness of fit, I should give it a 3, but it was just way too much fun to wear to hive it anything less than a 4. The material is your basic thin nylon type material. The part you view through was difficult to see through well, more than anything because your face sits so far back from the window itself. At 5'3 I am too short for this costume. you really need to be 6 ft tall give or take a couple of inches in order to wear it properly. I look like a ballerina hippo that tripped and landed on her butt :) Overall it seems great, it inflated quickly and held air well. It is super wrinkled and crumpled so you need to smooth it out before wearing it. The fan smells like it is burning when it runs. As this is the 5th inflatable costume I have bought I can say that is not normal. Thankfully I have another fan. Also, the skirt is one layer and completely see-through. They really skimped on making it. and the mouth is not solid it is see-through and made of a crappy stiff vinyl-like material. For the price, this should have been better. ... show more

I absolutely love this costume! Super entertaining and fits well (I'm a very very heavy, 5'6 young woman and it fits just fine!) You can also use it to rub it in the haters' faces! I bought it on a whim just because I wanted it and other people were like, "Why would you get this without a purpose for using it?" Etc. WELL. Then suddenly a lip sync contest came up and my mother (my biggest critic on buying the costume) wants to enter it last minute and she winds up lip syncing "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" while I go and dance around in the crowd in this costume and WE WON 1ST PLACE PRIZE OF $500!! I told her I deserved more than half of the money just because she doubted my life decisions 😂. Moral of the story: If you want to be a giant inflatable hippo, you BE that giant inflatable hippo!! ... show more

    • Hot and hard to see but fun
Pros: adorable and fun to dance in. It jiggles a lot which is fun. Cons: Hot and stuffy even on a cool day. Batteries only last about 2 hours. Really hard to see through the window even on a sunny day. A clear window would have been better.
