We needed these for a musical production of Willy Wonka. It’s a great, classic looking costume, nice quality. However, they do run large. I went ahead and ordered a small, medium, and large because I was unsure on what we need but was leaning towards a medium and large for my sons who wear size 8 and 12 clothes. Well, we went with a small and medium. The next sizes up for them were way too long and baggy to get that knicker type look in the pants. The pants would have went all the way to the floor and the rest was just baggy. Also, the socks which are actually like leg warmers (no feet) fit pretty small. They were very tight and not very long. I purchased for a play my daughter was performing in I purchased a size medium in kids. My daughter is 8 and very slim, but tall . She is on the far right. All the kids purchased the same costumes from here. I did go by previous review saying to size up which worked. I was going to get a small but it was out of stock so I am glad I went with the medium. The small would have been too small. One of the buttons was off when I received it, but it was easily sewn back on. The back has velcro closures. It isnt the most well-made costume, the buttons popped off the front pretty fast and the fabric is thin. But for the low price, I expected as much. My son wears size 6-7 and this costume for great! He was able to put layers underneath to stay warm. It does not come with a wig like others did, so we just sprayed his hair green. It was undeniably cute and everyone knew who he was! I ordered the wrong size and had to return it, they were extremely easy to work with! The costume itself is exactly as pictured, my daughter usually wears a 7/8 and the size small fit her perfectly. We had ordered a medium and it was too long for her.
