Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o) ******************************************************************************************************* Confession Time: I love, LOVE Papel Picado, which means ‘perforated paper’ in English. These colorful cutout banners are meant to be enjoyed for festive occasions, celebrating Mexican traditions. I’ve have enjoyed them for many, many years growing up! ;o) ******************************************************************************************************* These 8.2 feet long Mexican Plastic Papel Picado Banners are cheerful colors of the rainbow, literally. There's plenty to hang at your next party celebrating the best of Mexican traditions, be it weddings, birthday parties, Mexican Independence Day, Dias de los Muertos aka Day of the Dead-- too many events to list here! There's plenty to work with; you get a total of about 66 feet of strung cutout panels to enjoy. ;o) There's a silly smile on my face when I received them in time for both of our upcoming celebration of Cinco De Mayo, and of course, a few months down the road, for the Day of the Dead! I highly recommend these banners. They are beyond cute! I only have one teeny misgiving or two, perhaps three: These banners arrived all folded up rather than rolled, in a long, skinny box, leaving a distinct fold or two down the middle of each panel. My hubby put them on the counter in the kitchen for several days, to see if they could possibly flatten (err, relax) the plastic material somehow... and truth be told, they didn't. I'm so sorry to point this out, but honesty demands I do. Another surprise is how thin the plastic material itself is. Due to the lack of thickness and being of plastic, there isn't a way to iron out the 'wrinkles' so to speak, as they would melt, big time. (Kindly be aware of that-- perhaps there's a way to flatten them out, but I haven't learned how to do so.) The strings to tie the eight sets of banners to a pole / hook them up / or staple to wood, etc. is very short. That alone may impact the cut out panels (~10"x8" in size) at each end a bit. I measured about only 15 inches of tie up string at each end of the banners. At first it sounds like 15 inches is a lot, but past experience tell me the panels near the ends of the string will be impacted, won't wave in the breeze as much-- is what I'm trying to say. Other than those facts, these banners are still lovely, and definitely better than the tissue banners we originally ordered that was tearing too easily, due to very thin tissue paper (I've never seen tissue paper that thin before, lesson learned type of thing! ;o) Since we really put our hearts into using papel picado, we are enjoying them anyway, thinness and all! ;o) Give these RUBFAC Mexican Plastic Papel Picado Banner a try... Ugh these are made in china. I wish they were made in mexico. That being said, the traditional mexican picado banners are tissue paper and string, and rip very easily. These are plastic. They’ll last a bit longer probably multiple uses BUT theyre not the best plastic renditions i’ve seen. They get kinda wrinkly in the packaging? Theyre almost too think plastic, trying to be tissue paper thin but in plastic? I dont know i’m not a huge fan. But the colors are great and they’re super easy to use and easy to add a bunch of color to any party.
