These are really great for use as decorative barrels. The only thing I don't like is it's difficult to see the water level. I wish the flap on the top had hinges so we can just pull them up and look in there. We are probably going to just add them ourselves. A decent tip is also to use Mosquito dunks. You can use a s hook and string them up with fishing line and place them on the opening to help hold down the flap. This puts an organic pesticide in the water to keep down fungus gnats and other pest that love to nest in mulch. It is safe for vegetables. If you use beneficial nematodes, I would recommend to remove not use the mosquito dunks. BT can possible kill the nematodes. Check with your nematode dealer to find out if BT will affect them. I have found that the nematodes work best to kill house plant infestations. I haven't had a chance to test this in my yard yet. So far I don't think we have an mosquito larvae in these barrels so I think they will work fine whether you use the dunks or nematodes. ... show more

After a year they’re holding up! However, the plastic spigots suck! I bought a metal one that’s great & only replaced one, the plastic one leaks like crazy! I also added mosquito dunks & a mesh layer to the tiny bugs couldn’t get it & that worked great! Looks good after a year!

The media could not be loaded. was disappointed as one of barrels had leaks where the faucet plug attached, it was not sealed properly and leaked, so in process of fixing it with sealant-hope it works

These are supposed to have aluminum screens. They don't. They're cheap plastic. These are supposed to have brass drain valves. They don't. They're cheap plastic. They're supposed to be sturdy. Well, kind of. Make certain they are on a VERY flat and sturdy surface. These are very thin walled and won't stand up to much abuse. They're not bad for the money, I guess. If you put them against the wall (like the back flat side looks like it should go) the rainfall will fill up the barrel and the back side will swell up to 8 inches. Creating at least a 8 inches of space between the barrel and the wall. the look is not good and almost comical. and I would not reccommend to any one. If any one want some I will sell my brand new ones half price. I chose them for the unique look they have. but once water gets in them that look goes from unique to unbearable. If anyone knows if they could be returned your help would be appreciated ... show more

Wow I received these almost a week early. I have the first one set up in the backyard collecting the ac drip. Was really easy to set up (although I am not connecting them at this time.) They seem sturdy and well made. Yay I am very happy.
