  • Good Fit!
Model: Dark (M): 3MVL
This ligature works great on the Otto Link STM baritone metal mouthpiece!

  • Best I've used.
Model: MKIII (HR): C-3R
A fabulous lig. It doesn't pinch the reed, even if it is a bit over-tight and theres tons of customizable plate set-ups (this one doesn't come with any)(My alto friend had difficulty projecting with some plates, so beware!). Coming from the classic metal two-screw, the single screw, fabric mesh opened the tone and made reed adjustment much easier. I also tried a single screw vinyl type lig but it didn't allow the reed to move at all. My tone was stuffy and I had little flexibility. At first I was frustrated because the ligature appeared too big for the mouthpiece but you can adjust how the screw threads through the pins and fabric. The cap fits beautifully. I've used the lig on a crap stock mouthpiece, a Yamaha 4C, and E. Rousseau and a Meyer and it works great on all of them. My only complaint is that I only have one of them! ... show more

  • I can’t believe what a difference this made
Model: Dark (HR): 3R
As a chronic beginner, I never really understood the difference that a better mouthpiece could make, let alone a ligature. I recently upgraded my old generic mouthpiece to a Yamaha 5c, which I know is low-end but still made a big difference for me in the ease of playing, but my old ligature was a little too tight for it. It worked but didn’t really look right. So I ordered one of these, not really convinced of the design but just because it was recommended and not too expensive- I mean, it’s basically the cheapest decent ligature around. Anyway, it made a huge difference and I was astonished. I can now hit all the high notes that I previously, well, couldn’t, my dynamic range is better, and I get a lot better consistent tone across the full range of the instrument. I don’t expect this piece to impress seasoned players who spend a lot on premium equipment, but I have a feeling a lot of students and beginners may not realize this item is worth the cost to upgrade over the little metal cage that came with your sax. It absolutely is. If you are in the fence about whether this is worthwhile as an upgrade, it is. This review is not meant for experts and seasoned players. I assume you will all already know this. But I would’ve had a better experience if I’d discovered this piece of gear years ago and not just last month. ... show more

  • Baritone sax mouthpieces can vary a lot in size
Model: Versa X (HR): X-3R
Didn’t work with my Otto Link tone edge too big, but was ok with Yamaha 5c is manageable. It may be best to test ligatures in person with the mouthpiece you own at an instrument shop. I had no problems with size issues with clarinet ligatures and have several Rovners for them that work beautifully. I have had no problems with Tenor sax or alto - Rovner ligatures worked will with all the mouthpieces (rubber). ... show more

  • Smaller bari sax ligature
Model: Dark (M): 3MVL
This works great with my metal Otto Link 6* baritone sax mouthpiece. This also matches what the Rover sizing guide suggests on their website. If you're looking for something smaller for this type of metal mouthpiece, this should work. It won't work on larger mouthpieces (does not even closely fit on my Rousseau JDX 7). ... show more

  • It's a great product. I don't have any complaints about it ...
Model: MKIII (HR): C-3R
It's a great product. I don't have any complaints about it whatsoever, unless you want a good cap to go with the ligature. The cap itself is just a cheap plastic, a good temporary fix, though I'll get a better one in the future. This ligature though is very nice, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on my tone quality since I bought this. Great buy for $24 ... show more
