It should be criminal to sell this shoe with the insert it comes with. I read many reviews complaining about the size of the shoe and wondered how they could get the sizing so wrong. The shoe isn’t cheap so if they can’t get the sizing right what else could they mess up? Well it turns out the sizing problems are because of a poor design of the shoe inserts. The shoe itself is soft and flexible. It feels like I’m wearing thick socks or UGG boots when I have these on. That said, once I slipped my foot into the shoe for the first time I realized something felt drastically off with the shoe. Not only was it tighter than I expected, I had an overwhelming feeling that my foot was going to fall out of the shoe as if it as being pushed out by the design of the shoe itself. I quickly pulled out the insert and noticed the problem immediately. While the front of the insert is flat, the portion from the arch to the heel dramatically angles upward. I didn’t measure the heel of the insert but it likely about a half an inch of cushioning. When you pair this with the feeling I had about my foot being “ejected” from the shoe it makes me feel like they designed the shoe and the insert completely independently of each other. The result is that the cushioning on the back of the shoe (which is incredibly soft and comfortable) ends up pressing against the back of your heel instead of the back of your ankle. The first time I put on the shoes to drive to the store my foot was in pain halfway through my drive. As soon as I parked I took out the inserts and tossed them in the back seat to find insert comfort and relaxation. I instantly knew why so many people had sizing issues with this shoe. Once I took out the inserts I realized the sizing problem was from the poorly designed insert taking up far too much room in the shoe. For example, I wear size 11 shoes in Adidas, Converse, Vans, and Allbirds. The first time I put on this shoe I worried that I should’ve listened to everyone else and bought a size up. Well once I discarded the insert and stole an insert from an old pair of Allbirds, the shoe suddenly fit perfectly and was 100% more comfortable. This is the biggest issue with this shoe and honestly an issue I’m not sure I accept for a shoe that costs nearly $200. I expect to swap out an insert on a pair of shoes that costs less than $50, I never expect to do the same for a shoe that costs 4x as much. Once I had a proper insert the shoes design and feel really showed. I bought these shoes to be a light travel shoe that could replace my leather white sneakers I wear to look semi professional when I meet with my customers. The shoe itself will clearly be a very comfortable fit for days I spend in an airport and driving in a car to and from my destinations. Not to mention the style and design allow the shoe to be dressed up or down without an issue. It will take time to decide how the shoe fairs when I try to wash them and how many months on my feet in them will wear the shoe down. In the meantime, I would have quickly returned these shoes and never looked back if I hadn’t taken the time to simply realize the insert is horribly designed. I hope in the future the designer can correct this issue bc the shoe and the insert do not work together. They are so close to having a perfect shoe that justifies the price but for now they need to rethink what they offer to their customers for $180 and expect us to go out to fix their poor design at an additional cost.

Nice looking shoe but the sizing is absolutely terrible. I ordered my usual size 15, but these are visibly smaller when placed alongside other brands I own, and feels like a size 14 at best when worn. Also incredibly narrow, causing foot pain. Order at least one size up.
