This is my first pair of Rothy's, though I've been wanting to try them for awhile. From the first moment of putting them on, I found them very comfortable, and I have fussy feet. I was pleasantly surprised by the squishiness of the insole. I normally use high arch support insoles, but these seem like they will be pretty comfortable for walking around. The sizing seems to run a tiny bit larger than average. However, I tried these in winter, and would normally wear this type of shoe in warmer weather, when feet tend to swell a little bit more, so perhaps they will fit perfectly then. They definitely have room for a no-show sock or a trouser sock inside, so looking forward to trying it that way. Testing it walking around the house in the evening, I didn't feel that they would fall off my feet or anything. The style is is a perfect combination of a penny loafer and driving flat. I especially like the sole that wraps the back of the heel, which will prevent wear to the shoe if you do a lot of driving or putting your feet up under a desk. Please note that all Rothy's have a thin cobalt blue line in the back. I know that is their signature branding, but I would prefer it without that, as it may not go with your outfit and details matter. Regardless, I'm very excited to try these more when spring comes, and see if they are easily washable. The one hesitation I would have is, are these worth the high price? I would normally want to spend about 1/2 to 2/3 as much for this type of shoe. But if it lasts a long time and is easy to clean, maybe I could change my mind.

The most comfortable shoes I own! Everything hurts my feet. Or it takes a while to wear them in. These shoes are fabulous. Comfortable right out of the box. They feel like slippers. And they are so cute.

These Daily Driver loafers by Rothy’s are to love! Here’s what I like: **True to Size, Flexible & Roomy – These shoes fit true to size, lengthwise. The sides are soft and conform to a generous medium width. Plenty of space to add a thinner sock too. **Cushioned Arch Support – The soles of these shoes are soft yet contoured to give arch support. They are extremely comfortable for all-day wear. **Stylish Profile – These loafers are quite stylish. The profile is sleek, without being tight or too pointy in the toe. The styling is elevated, whether you are pairing them with casual jeans or professional dressing. **Love the Stitching Details – The rich navy-blue stitching at the heel is just great. It’s subtle. Only the wearer will know it’s there, but that blue stitching gives these shoes a sophisticated finish. So too do the other stitching and piping details, plus the penny slot. **Heel Driving Nubs – The nubs on the bottom of the shoes are black. The last three rows, wrapping the heel match the brown rubber sole. The tone-on-tone brown at the heel looks clean and modern. **Classic Micro Check Pattern is Seasonless – I just love the micro check pattern. The shoe features micro checks all around and on the vamp. All the way around the foot opening is a similar but smaller version of the micro check material. The change and contrast are subtle but look sharp. **Comfortable Toe Box – Rothy’s got it right in balancing a toe box that looks sleek for a loafer, without squishing toes. The squarish, rounded toe box is very comfortable. **Washable?!? – I haven’t had these shoes long enough to need to wash them, but the laundering instructions are provided. They are made from recycled plastic so they’re also environmentally friendly, without being scratchy. The loafers are soft, through and through. What Could Be Better: **More Structure to the Sides of the Shoe – There is a delicate balance between soft comfort and floppy shoes. These are not floppy but I do think Rothy’s would do well to add a touch more stiffness to the sides, for additional foot support. As is, my foot deliciously melts into these shoes. That’s mostly a great thing. The downside is that my feet and ankles can roll a bit, from side to side, because the sides are so soft. The lack of side structure seems to be an intentional comfort feature. It’s all about tradeoffs, structure and stability vs. ultimate comfort. This shoe delivers ultimate comfort. I highly recommend Rothy’s Daily Driver loafers for those with medium to slightly wide feet. Those who wear narrow shoes may find the width of these to be too loose. That said, there’s plenty of room in these driver mocks to add a pair of socks, if you wish.
