  • Fast
Color: Black Size: 12
Since I had order these boots I surprised on how fast there were delivered since that was to be delivered on the 25th or 26th. Have not tried them on yet due to an infection on one of my toes caused by I know not. Anyway, I will enjoy putting these boots on when I can. The reasonable priced and I will make sure to water proof them when I get the chance. ... show more

  • Decent boot for insanely wide feet but corners were cut during manufacturing
Color: Olive Drab Size: 13 Wide
If you have feet that measure wider than the "4E" option many companies offer this boot does a pretty good job of handling your flippers. I measure from toe to heel as an 10.5 or 11 US but constantly have to buy 2 or 3 sizes higher just to accommodate the width. 13 wide worked for me. It is a little long in the toe and I probably could have gotten away with a 12.5 wide but it isn't offered. Either way, the construction of the boot is overall very good. The boots do have the updated "Panama" sole making it easier to slick mud out of the grooves by stomping on hard ground or with a stick. If you aren't familiar with Vietnam era Jungle boots, these are not water proof. Instead they feature a drain grommet in the sides that will push water out with every step. If you intend to use these for hiking or rucking be sure to pair these with quick drying socks. They also do NOT come with any sort of insole so you will have to add your own, which in my case is a benefit considering the price of the boots is low and I usually toss the pair of insoles for my favorites either way. The most unforgivably lazy manufacting practice in this boot is the lack of washer backings in the eyelets. From the factory, both boots simply had their eyelet grommets folded into themselves with the press dye. This leaves an unfinished, sharp metal surface friction fit into the leather holes, which will pop out easily when the laces are tightened. After 3 months of use they frayed the included boot laces. Since the other aspects of the boot met my standards I opted to replace the eyelets entirely myself, (Pictured on the left boot, right boot still has the OEM eyelets). Additionally none of the exposed leather surfaces have been treated with a tragacanth gum and those ends will fray after a few uses. I would like to give these boots at least 4 stars for their price and fit, however I actually am using these in a jungle setting and need them to stand up to at least 6 months of work prior to replacement. If you are even the slightest bit handy you can replace and treat the issues with this boot yourself. ... show more

  • Absolutely fantastic boots - but old school
Color: Black Size: 8
So to be clear, these are fantastic boots and there is a reason they stayed in services for 40 years (or so). Once broken in, they are wonderfully comfortable. The ability to walk out moisture is great, and the ankle support when crossing rocky ground with a load is excellent. They are built true to spec, and no different than the military issue ones from the past. Exactly the same on the inside too. Now keep in mind, you'll need to break them in. A lot. Do not skip this step or you'll have blisters the size of Texas on your tootsies. While modern boots (like my Solomans) are almost as comfortable as sneakers the day you buy them, these need more love become comfortable. And it will take a while to break them in, no skipping that. They are old school and the leather starts much like plastic. But once broken in they will last years. The panama soles work as designed. I just came back from traipsing around in the mud (pouring rain, cold day, mud up to my ankles) and the mud just fell out of the treads as I walked. I was carrying a load and the ankle support was nice too. ... show more

  • Great boots!
Color: Olive Drab Size: 5
These are great hiking boots. I usually wear a women's 7 and the size 4 fit perfect with room for insoles. Good traction on the trail, very comfortable surprisingly! Best boot for under $50. Also lighter than I expected!

  • Good for for the price but you need soles
Color: Olive Drab Size: 13 Wide
I've been wearing these almost everyday for roughly 3 months, they do not come with insoles but for the price I bought a set of Georgia boot insoles, with the new insoles and about a 2/3 week break in period they are extremely comfortable with an aggressive tread good for outdoor use, the leather does seem to be treated, giving it a decent amount of water resistance but also gives it a somewhat plastic feel but definitely appears to be genuine leather. Be warned that the leather will definitely crease at the toes so if you want boots that will look new ten years from now you'll need to spend more money, overall I think 4 out of 5 for bang for your buck, for a well performing outdoor boot, I would easily give it a 5 if they came with decent soles. ... show more
