  • Going strong for several years now
Color: Black
I bought this wallet because I was travelling and wanted to avoid any chance of my cards getting skimmed with an RFID reader. I also wanted to move my wallet to my front pants pocket because sitting on a wallet all day is uncomfortable. Well, I have no idea if the RFID blocking properties work. I've never had any of my card numbers stolen (or at least nobody has ever used them) if that's any comfort. Having said that, this has been an excellent minimalist wallet. I keep about a dozen cards in it, enough that I have to use the larger rubber band. All the cards stay in place. Trying to get a card out of the middle can be a bit challenging. Sometimes I have to take the rubber band completely off so I can stack the cards up and put the wallet halves on the stack again. To me that's a relatively minor annoyance. My most used cards are kept toward the outside where they are easily accessible and I can slide them out very quickly. Everything is easily usable. Keeping a lot of cash strapped to the outside of the wallet isn't really that practical. A large stack of bills will tend to bunch up and pull themselves loose when you take the wallet out of your pocket. Fortunately I'm usually broke so this is rarely a consideration for me. I usually only keep a couple of bills on the outside and there's no problem with these. If you think of this as more of a card carrier than a wallet, you'll be in the right ballpark. This thing has been in my pocket every single day for more than 6 years and, while I don't abuse it, it gets a lot of wear and tear. The black anodizing has slightly worn off the edges but 95% of it is still there. The rubber band has a nick in it that goes about a fourth of the way across it but it's still holding on just fine. No complaints about durability. I'll use this wallet until the rubber band starts to look like it's going to come apart, at which time I'll replace it with another. Roco has another style that I may try that looks a little different. In all, I'm impressed by how durable this has been. ... show more

  • I bought it 6 years ago, and I'm buying it again
Color: Black
I bought this wallet in 2017. It's now 2023 and it's held up this entire time. Currently holding 16 cards in total, 9 that are credit/debit card thickness and 7 that are ID thickness. I'm getting tired of carrying around this many cards so I'm going to cut it in half, and while the band holds the cards in place just fine with the cards it carries, I know once I remove the cards it will be too loose because it's lost some elasticity. Instead of buying a replacement band, I'm just going to purchase this wallet again. $15 bucks every 7 years is a pretty good deal. Pictures attached are from 2023, after 7 years of use. ... show more

  • Strong, secure wallet but scuffs easily and hard to use with bills.
Color: Black
Pros: Lightweight, compact, secure Cons: Difficult to use with paper money, scuffs easily I really like the look and feel of this. The reason I started looking for sturdier wallets is because I kept my leather wallet in my back pocket, and over time, sitting on it would damage my cards and break them. This solves that problem wonderfully, and feels great in the front pocket. I don't notice it's there. However, I also carry my cell phone and keys in my front pockets, and to avoid scratching my phone with my keys, I keep my wallet and keys in the same pocket. This, of course, leads to scratches on the aluminum part of the wallet rather quickly. I've only had it a little under 2 weeks and already there are small silver scuffs appearing. This isn't anything more than a cosmetic issue, and I'm not very concerned about it because I don't show off my wallet. But it's something to keep in mind if that sort of thing bothers you. Getting cards in and out is very easy if you put your most frequently used cards on the outside. The others can be difficult, but I just slide the whole deck out about half way, fan it out, and I can get the ones I need. The main drawback, I would have to say, is the how difficult it is to use the band as a paper bill holder. I fold my bills into fourths (fold in half, and then half again) and tuck it under the band. I use the small band with about 9 cards and it certainly holds the paper bills securely. I have 100% confidence that I will not lose my money by it slipping out, which I can't really say for traditional money clips. However, that security comes at the cost of taking a little extra time to put the money in. It takes several seconds more when I'm standing at the checkout line to fold up my bills, get a grip on the band, and slide the money in. I'm a fan of being quick and efficient in lines, so this is an annoyance for me, but I understand not everyone cares about that and in reality, I can fix that by tucking my cash in my pocket, moving out of line, and handling it there. So I'm not deducting stars for that. All in all, it's a very sturdy and secure wallet. I've had no problems with cash or cards falling out. The only real concern might be the tight band making it difficult to put money under it, and the fact that it easily scuffs against other metal objects like keys. The plates have a groove that the band sits in, which is partly why its difficult to get bills under it. If there was one suggestion I could make, it would be to make a small, finger-sized groove on one or both of the plates, as deep as the band groove, that would allow one to slide their finger along and get a good grip on the band. UPDATE: Almost exactly 5 months later and I just noticed the rubber band is ripped about halfway through, likely within the last day or so. I expect it won't last the next couple of days just due to the fact that rubber bands rip easily once started. Sadly I don't see a way to fix it besides using the larger band which I don't want to do. I did recently start carrying a large amount of paper bills, so that may be it. Be cautioned that enough bills will put stress where the band rubs against the edges of your cards. Time to start wallet shopping I guess. :( ... show more
