  • Good for lots of walking
Size: 9 Color: Taupe Suede
I wear size 8. If I use Dr. Scholl’s orthotics, I wear a 9. I have plantar’s fasciitis, and start of bunion on left big toe. I was born with very low arches, which causes me to put a lot of pressure onto my ball of foot and heel. I have tried Addidas, Nikes, and Keens, all which get blisters or at least leave me with painful feet by a few hours in. After research and reading reviews, I ordered this last week, arrived a day early, and in a size 9. I tried wearing them with and without the arch support inserts, walking up stairs and down sidewalks for 4 miles or more every day. I used several differing socks as well. After all that I was ready to give you a review. I find it possible to wear the size 9 with or without inserts, just because how soft and padded they are designed. There really isn’t any arch support in these. However, you can slip any kind of insoles or orthotics under the liner. My toes did not rub against the sides, regardless if I wore thick socks, or doubled thin socks. The tongue is very short and does not flop to the side like some shoes do. There is a loop, like Keens has, to pull up the back of the shoe. At first the rounded laces were untying often, but they have not done so in a couple days, so it seems to not be an issue. Tread is good for walking towns, not really meant for hiking trails in the woods. I wore them on the 100 degree day, and my feet did not overly sweat (eh they sweat in winter!) which may have helped to prevent blisters...the vents work. If possible I would have added even more padding to the ball of foot, because that is where it is most needed for me, however it is very soft and far better than all others I have tried. I am not elderly, yet, but I can see why elderly men love these shoes when traveling in retirement life. They will get your teenager beat up, for not being cool I am sure. However, I can recommend it to anybody who needs to walk or stand on the job a lot, including people with some disabilities. I will try to get another pair in a different color because they are a good value. (Lucked out, as the color is a nicer and lighter color than the photo on Amazon showed, which matched my Calvin Klein work khakis. ) ... show more

  • Great Shoe
Size: 10.5 Color: Taupe Suede
Nice balance of sportiness, comfort and little casual dressy. Seeing part of this shoe is suede I I give them a treatment of waterproofing before wearing them. Keeps them looking like new much longer.

  • 9.5 W is the best fit I've found in this price range.
They actually use some leather on these. Good price and will buy again.

  • Good but not as good as it used to be. Beware private equity.
I started buying Rockport Rock Cove shoes back in 2016. Before I continue let me say that I have cerebral palsy which causes me to have to use an orthotic and also causes me to go through shoes faster because of the way my foot drags a little. Because of this I need a quality shoe and can't settle for cheaply made Walmart shoes. The first pair of Rockport Rock Cove shoes I bought was wonderful. It came with a cushion on the inside of the shoe to prevent your toes from rubbing against the inside of the shoe which the new ones no longer have. It came with nice long quality laces which the new ones do not have...short cheap laces. The shoe was roomy...the new ones are tighter and less roomy. The level of quality of the leather and sole was much higher in the first pair than it is in the new one. All of these points are noted in other reviews and I can confirm them by experience. After the very noticeable decline in quality I did some research and found that the brand has been sold several times and was recently bought out of bankruptcy by private equity. This sentence says it all. Anything that private equity touches declines in quality...almost by definition. Despite the decline in quality over what it was it is still an acceptable product for the current price so I can say I will continue to buy them for now. ... show more

  • Good Shoe But May Be My Last Rockport Purchase
I bought this shoe to replace an identical style but lighter color Rockport shoe that lasted for three years of constant use. I had to glue a small section of the old shoe toward the end but otherwise both the material and sole held up well. My old shoe always was comfortable and provided good support. I expect this shoe to last as long and fit just as well. I do have an issue with Rockport though. I purchased this shoe with a wide width and another shoe from Rockport with a normal width and both fit properly, so Rockport has issues with shoe width. I used to go to Rockport stores in outlet malls to try them on before buying, but they have closed almost all of their stores, outlet or otherwise. Because of that this may be my last Rockport purchase. Five stars anyway because I love this shoe. ... show more
