I started buying Rockport Perth deck shoes in 1996. I have had at least 10 pairs of them. I had not bought any since 2017 (on Amazon), because I got a stellar deal on some other deck shoes. Over the last 5 years it seems that the footbed and heel cup are made of a lesser foam, softer and less dense. They do not ride as high up the side of the shoe. Unbeknownst to me Rockport is now owned by a different company. These deck shoes have been redesigned and have a different fit entirely. This new design is approximately ½ inch shorter and the in-step is noticeably smaller yet they carry the same ‘size’ as the old original Rockport shoe. My suggestion to anyone wanting to purchase any new Rockport shoe is to somehow check the fit before you make your purchase especially if you are basing your size off of an old original Rockport. UPDATE: BUYER BEWARE. Apparently my refund has been issued as a gift card. Somehow this seems unethical. I never ASKED for the REFUND to be issued as a gift card. BUYER BEWARE. Apparently everyone except Amazon knows that REFUNDS go back to the account from which they were originally drawn. BUYER BEWARE. If I wanted to buy a gift card i would have done so.
