After reading other reviews, I was not sure that I would like these, but with my previous experience with Rockports being very positive, I decided to take a chance. The shoes arrived we packaged and in excellent condition. The size is perfect and and I love the sole--lugged but also cushioned. The look is traditional, and so far, they have held up well. Some other reviewers commented that the look was "pleather" rather than leather. Having had shoes from other makers (Johnston and Murphy, Allen Edmonds), this is waterproofed leather. Like all Rockports, this shoe appeared to be well made, with quality materials, and accurately sized. We were trying to fit a young person with a very narrow, flexible foot. When I first took them out of the box, I was surprised how stiff they were and I thought the size was wrong - too narrow. After several days on a shoe tree and breaking them in for short periods of time, they fit, now. The only reason that they didn't get 5 stars is because the arch support is somewhat lacking. Had a pair for a very long time. Though it wasn’t an everyday shoe for me, it had started to show its age, so figured it was time for new ones. Happy that they were still being made, and that I found it here cheaper than the Rockport website itself. They were out in my size anyway. So, thanks!

It might be good for walking & heel but it was hurting side of my ( maybe ) fibula bone at ankle top , sorry I had to replace it. I wish side of the shoe would have been bit low. But it is your choice, You should try it.
