Definitely better to plug in solar than have to keep changing batteries. My camera (like most, if not all?) only came with one battery. There is room for 2 & I recommend adding the second battery. Solar panel keeps both batteries charged & this allows camera to record longer & use light at night when triggered w/o worrying about batteries running out ... show more

So this solar panel has been out for a while, and I (naively) assumed that Ring would have transitioned their fitting on the longer (combo) wall mount they are selling, to suit. After all, they’ve included a USB to barrel power adapter with the panel for changing camera generations. So I ordered a panel. And ordered the combination wall mount, for the length. And when I received both today - lo and behold, the official Ring longer wall mount fitting does not fit the Ring panel. Despite the fact it’s being sold as such…. EDIT - okay - I will admit when I am wrong. I saw a post elsewhere that identified that the 'too large' panel mount can actually be detached to expose the correctly sized mount underneath... So now the panel does what I bought it for and I'm upping my score. I'm still deducting a point though, as it might have been helpful to have that identified somewhere in the packing/instructions... ... show more
