I already had the Ring doorbell but decided to get this when there was a rash of car break-ins, well cars that were unlocked, and when I heard about some neighbors who had things stolen I checked my doorbell cam and could clearly see someone walk by my house and check the doors of my cars in the driveway but there wasn't enough light to tell who this person was. I could hardly see him in my driveway because of the position of the doorbell in relation to my driveway and there was also a large bush in the way. All I could see was that he clearly walked off the street into my driveway. I then decided to get the spotlight cam and mount it under my eaves facing my driveway. This thing has such a great field of view that I can see everything. I love that the light turns on with motion and if you have other Ring devices you can configure it to have this light turn on and start recording when another device detects motion. Luckily I haven't had any issues where I needed to go back and review the video but there is a peace of mind factor here. The camera is definitely better than that of the doorbell but also helps with the added light. The echo show is a nice addition and you can ask it to show you the camera. Bonus is now I have a light in my driveway!

Really easy to mount. The light is bright. I am surprised that the cord doesn’t disconnect at the base to make it easier to slip the cord through a hole in the wall, so the hole has to be big enough for the plug to fit through. There is a long delay to see the video on the Ring app as it processing the video. By the time it finishes, the person is already gone. This happens with the doorbell as well and is really annoying. I have Google Fiber so internet speed is not a problem. The Echo show does provide video quickly so if you happen to be in the room as the show, then you can get real-time conversation with the camera. I wish that the phone app showed a quick preview when notified like Nest does. When you are notified, you must go to the app and usually wait for processing to view.

I do like this camera Its absolutely great for the price. FYI you will need a subscription to view videos but its cheap around $30 a year but only for 1 camera. I bought the echo show with it expecting to get notified on it as I would my phone (thru the Ring app) but nope, no notifications if I think someones outside I have to tell Alexa to show me the front door. It does work great but a few improvements would make it amazing!. I really hope soon they'll make a widget to instant view live cam from phones Home Screen besides opening complete app plus being able to connect to Apple Home would be nice as well.

Already have other Ring products. Only thing I dont like is the power cord is attached which eliminates the option of a small hole to run it from inside to outside. I had to install an out-door outlet. Would be great if it were like other Ring devices that have power cords that detach.

First one with water inside the motion sensor out of the new box, it’s not the refurbished one I bought. Replacement t with LED light out, looks like the team needs to work on the water resistant
