I took about a month to fully review this product. Here is what I think about the peephole/door bell. Overall a very good product. I will say that there are a few improvements that could be done. Below I'll go over some pros and cons that I have noticed. There are not many cons for what you get. Environment/elements the camera was tested in: Apartment complex, door opens to outdoors, no hallway, day and night application, 1st floor, high person traffic, hot and cold (34 was the lowest), rain, bright sun, cloudy, high wind. The door is covered so some element protection. Pros: Easy to connect to app and internet. Clear video and images (could be better, still good) Battery does last a while even with a lot of settings turned up along with sensitivity high. Door bell works well Night vision does very well when in low light. All tools needed to install are in the box. Easy to install on the door. The knock sensor is really nice. Good quality materials. Can change out the face plate. Battery swap is easy, it doesn't take too long to come back online when swapping. Can have a privacy block on the video. Depending on your setup, it can give you a better view (wider) than the doorbell. Cons: The sensor has a delay when picking up people. The delay in pushing the doorbell to phone notification. I got it, it could be internet and phone service. Overall, good product and great features for cost. Note: take your time installing when pushing through the door peephole. The ribbon is sensitive. Last con- Paying for the new save your videos (a/o 23MAR23) Kind of a scam to have everyone pay their videos. Make a "free" feature get everyone on board and then dump that, c'mon. Okay rant done.

I like the Ring doorbell because I can’t hear anyone Knocking on the door. This way I hear hear the bell and can view it on my phone.

Just pop out the peephole and slide the 2 parts together. Then works just like a regular ring. Really like that you can slide down a little cover to use as a regular peephole too.

I never could get a ring because my door bell faces the wrong way. This peephole one is perfect! I love it and love that my Alexia tells me there is someone at the door! I also bought a CHIME that I put upstairs so I can hear the doorbell ring upstairs too.

I moved into an apartment and had a package stolen. We're not allowed to install cameras mounted in "common areas" but the rules didn't say anything about my door. We didn't have a door bell, but we did have a peep hole so we figured we'd try out the ring Peephole Cam. Installation is super simple and straight forward. I didn't have to make any permanent modifications to do the door at all so when I move out, I'll just swap back to the normal peep-hole and no one will know the difference. Instructions were very clear, and it provided some additional wider tubing in case you have a wider bore peep hole that already exists. I've had this installed for 3 months now and the battery just alerted me that it's low, which prompted me to post the review. We get ~5-6 motion alerts a day, and we typically look at the live view every once and a while to be nosy (It picks up our neighbors conversations who have long drawn out chats around the corner and we may or may not listen in.) I bought an extra battery as well but don't bother. The batter charges 100% overnight, so you really lose out on 1 day of recording every 3 months. Worth every penny spent to feel some protection against theft and visibility in to when the complex enters your unit unannounced for "random health and saftey checks"... UPDATE: It's now October, 2023, ~4 years since I purchased the Ring Peephole cam. There's some new technology out there, but I still stand by my review/recommendation for this camera. We moved and pulled the camera out, popped in the original peep hole and none was the wiser. Installed it in our new place in a matter of a minute, and we're back in business. The two batteries we have last ~ 2 months before wearing out. Hell of a life span for rechargeable batteries if you ask me.

This peephole cam is easy to install and easy to use. The images can get blurry at times, but the cam is good in most cases. Even the night images are pretty good. The battery life is decent, but I would recommend you have a backup battery available.
