Was having problem with battery life on ring security sensors. Everything showed I had good signal with all sensors, but batteries weren't lasting as long as they should. After reading a blog picked one of these up and installed it. Batteries in most sensors lasting almost as twice as long now. Guessing they were eating up their batteries either restransmitting or trying to contact the base station. If you are having problems with sensor battery life, I would recommend picking up an extender or two. For me at least made a big difference.

Works as it should. Easy to program and install. Instant connection. Allows other Ring devices to connect when they need a stronger signal connection. Good stuff.

Some of the reviews said were not able to add range but it was perfect for what I was doing. I have the Ring alarm system and a large number of sensors. I was able to use the range extender to get to a door to a second structure I have on the property that is about 25-30' away. I did have to put the extender in an enclosed outlet on the outside corner of the home vs. inside. The signal goes from the alarm base station to the range extender outside and is then able to get 25-30' to the inside of the door. Note one of the complaints people had is not seeing the range extender in the list for ring. You have to go to: Setup device, THEN SECURITY (vs. the extender being in the list). Once hit SECURITY in the dropdown will show range extenders. Second quick note is I originally added both the extender and the new door sensor before took out to the final locations. I tested the door sensor with the door closed to make sure was seeing the security system and worked well. I would say I am pretty close to the end of the range with the extender. As stated above I also used an outlet that is enclosed on exterior of home so was able to get the signal to the sensor. Due to heavy duty Florida construction if had the range extender inside I was not able to reach the sensor. When moved it outside the alarm base station could keep the connection to the range extender AND the door sensor 25-30' away could see the extender.

Ring doesn’t care about their customers. I’ve spent thousands on these cameras and they won’t even alert me when the alarms going off. I’ve spent countless hours trying to get this corrected and every time they put me on with a know nothing supervisor that can’t help. I suggest you trust your important things in another company’s hands.

I used these to extend the range of the base station so that exterior cameras will work. I live in a single story wood frame, stucco house and when an exterior device is more than 15 ft away from the base station, the reception becomes intermittent and spotty. They should be made to be waterproof, since they are most effectively placed in nearby outside wall plugs.
