  • As long as it fits your mouthpiece, it will work
Size: Ligature Only Style: Alto Sax
As is true with all ligatures, it may or may not fit your mouthpiece. It fits 2 of mine but not the 3rd one. It is a ligature and it does what it is supposed to do - it keeps my reed in place.

  • Cheaply made
Size: Ligature & Cap Sets Style: Soprano Sax
Very disappointed with this ligature. It came in a smashed box and was bent. It was so flimsy it was easy to straighten out. That is why I am disappointed, in that it will not hold a reed without slipping forward due to the poor quality of the metal used. You have to hold it in place and quickly tighten the back screw then the front if it is in place. The 4 grip dots do not grip at all. The mouth piece cover is a neat design, but only fits this ligature from what I have tried. ... show more

  • Your basic Rico ligature
Size: Ligature Only Style: Soprano Sax
Nothing overly special about this ligature. It does the job. Many players prefer the classic Rico ligature. I alternate between this and a Rovner. I like this ligature because it gives me the proper fit and tightness that I want on my reed. I highly recommend this product

  • Come on D’Addario, you can do better.
Size: Ligature Only Style: Tenor/Baritone Sax
I was hopeful for a decent ligature at an affordable price. The design looked like an “everything you need, nothing you don’t.” I liked the four contact points on the reed. However, I never felt like it got a good fit on any mouthpieces. I figured it was just that particular piece, so I tried it on a variety of pieces. No dice. Even if I cranked it down, it would still slip off. (And you shouldn’t crank down a ligature anyway.) I tried one for bari and one for tenor. I wasn’t shocked about the bari one since bari mouthpieces come in such a wide variety of sizes, but I had the same experience with the tenor piece. Amazon is suggesting I talk about “ease of use” and “sound quality.” I would say it has poor ease of use if it doesn’t fit well. And it sounds terrible if it isn’t effectively holding the reed on the mouthpiece, which is its sole job to do. ... show more

  • Effective and Inexpensive
Size: Ligature & Cap Sets Style: Tenor Sax (Hard Rubber)
I'm not a huge fan of two-screw ligatures, but this one works, is low priced, and has the same great cap as the Rico H-Ligature. The cap grips the mouthpiece securely while in place and completely protects the reed, but it is ribbed and made of pliable material that slides easily on and off the mouthpiece when you want it to. The Rico ligature is not as convenient as some, and I debated rating it only four (4) stars. But the price is right and the Rico ligature is convenient enough once you use it a bit. ... show more

  • Nice
Size: Ligature & Cap Sets Style: Alto Sax
Nice ligature, and nice looking cap, but the cap does not fit my Yamaha 4C mouthpiece, which is strange because the Yamaha 4C is a classic and it is a standard mouthpiece. Possibly, the cap is made only for Rico's mouthpieces. In this case, they should say it in the advertisement. I could have saved a few dollars buying only the ligature. ... show more

  • Perfect
Size: Ligature Only Style: Bb Clarinet
I have two middle school age children that play clarinets and this purchase was great. Good quality. Come individually wrapped inside the box. Will be buying again.

  • Not A Universal Fit
Size: Ligature & Cap Sets Style: Alto Sax
The problem with this ligature is that it slides down on the mouthpieces that I have while tightening it. It just isn't a good fit. Mine came with no damage so I suspect it's too small in diameter. I have a few other metal two - screw ligatures and even the generic ones work better than the Rico on most of my mouthpieces. I do like the mouthpiece cap, it's kind of a softer material. I don't recommend this ligature. ... show more
