This license plate frame is metal except for the plates with the letters on them, those are plastic. The plate has only been on the vehicle for a week so I can't comment about rust except that there hasn't been any rust since I put it on. The plate seems very sturdy it's thick metal and doesn't bend when holding it and it holds up well in the carwash. My only complaint with this license plate is that it appears one of the holes is a mm out of alignment with the other one. My car came with screws to hold the license plate on that have a half inch head (like a washer welded to a screw) and on the left side the bolt fits perfectly (makes it past the raised plate for the lettering), but on the right side the head of the screw get caught up on the raised plate. This shouldn't be a problem if you have normal screws, which I will get whenever I next go to a home improvement store. Even with the issue of the screw getting hung up on the raised plate the license plate frame still fastens securely to the car just the screw head isn't flush. For the amazing price, you can't go wrong with this plate. If you like the style its an absolute must. The quality of production is amazing and it would be worth at least $15 let alone the $8 I paid for it. It's a great buy! In case you were wondering, the letters are raised and are a matte finish. Go Tigers!

Go Badgers! I bought two of these, one for each of my parents to put on their cars. The frame is attractive, and shows our support of the Badgers, which is what we were going for. The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5, is the bottom covers up the bottom part of the license plate. If a cop wants to give you a hard time, you can get cited for that (at least in some states). So, for example, on a Florida License plate it will cover up the bottom where it says your county (or Sunshine State). Some license plate frames take this issue into consideration, and make the frame a bit taller so the bottom bit can drop a bit lower, so the bottom of the license plate isn't obscured. I wish this license plate frame did that. The frame itself is good looking, and I'd suggest it to other UW fans!!! Get em Bucky!!!!

Bought it for a UCF alumnus to replace an older frame that did not look as good. Unlike some frames, it has wholes for two screws on the top but none on the bottom, but that was no problem because his older frame did not have four screw holes either yet it remained mouted firmly on the car. Apparently I made the best choice among the several frames offered.
